A: You can use either as the shorter stroke diaphragm has a longer center stem for less fuel delivery and the longer stroke diaphragm has a shorter center stem for more fuel delivery.

A: That is how the Manufacturer classifies them. Depending on the style of carburetor you have, In your case for a 2005 DRZ400E you would need the long stem / short stroke.
