The competition ECM is amazing, feels like I have a whole new bike now. The instructions are simple and easy to follow, this is a must do for the 18' WR.
This kit really opens up the bike. The throttle is much more responsive and opens wider with the shorter screw. It's pretty hard to beat this upgrade for the price.
Best money you can spend on this bike! Also comes with step by step instructions on how to remove the exhaust baffle restriction and air intake restriction. All easy to do for the average Joe.
Bought this after a friend bout the tuner and his ecu, unreal improvement the tuner is a must also. Totally changes the bike, best 100 bucks I've spent in a long time
Pretty easy to install (especially the ECU) the only thing that the directions don't tell you is that you will need a T-25 security torx bit, not a regular torx bit as implied in the directions.
Installation was aided by removing the header to access the stock throttle screw as this provided more room to work.
Throttle range was greatly increased, and it will be great to start playing around with various programs to see how performance improves.
My 2015 WR450F now starts up easier as well which is an added plus.
I bought this for my 2017 WR250F. Stock this bike is great but lacks a little bit in low end torque. I purchased and installed the Competition ECU and removed the stock intake restrictor. This is a totally different bike now. The throttle response improved drastically and power is instant throughout the entire RPM range. What's better is all the additional aftermarket performance parts I have added since are getting their full potential. This has been the best money I have spent on my bike.
This ecu and the new throttle stop screw made my wr250f fun to ride. Night and day difference in power and throttle response. Get one you won't be disappointed!

My 15 WR450F now starts easy runs strong and no popping.
Knew this ECU would help with power, but the end result was a night-and-day difference. I also put a mesh less air filter box on and removed the restrictor in the exhaust. Throttle screw was a little tricky, but if you remove the whole exhaust, it's easy.
If you don't own a GYTR Power Tuner, your local bike shop should likely be able to load a new map for you for free or a very small charge (watch the videos on how to do it, it takes almost no time at all to load a new map).
Also don't forget to buy a set of "security" torx bits to remove the original throttle stop.
And yes, it will work with a new exhaust system.
