Invented by Galfer in the early '90s, Galfer Wave Rotors were designed to solve the problem of water and mud on brake rotor surfaces of trial competition motorcycles. As Galfer developed the design, they discovered an added benefit: the brake system was running cooler. When they combined their new design with the premium materials they had already developed for their round rotors, the resulting breakthrough began the new generation of brake rotor technology.
- Made of Galfer's proprietary, non-recycled, high-carbon 420 stainless steel / 8 composite.
- Laser cutting (not stamped like most others) leaves a precision cut while simultaneously heat-treating the rotor edge.
- Double disc-parallel grinding to assure perfect parallel flatness.
- Heat-treated to each specific application to prevent warping.
- Each of Galfer's designs are CAD-CAM and tested with a stress analysis program, as well as dyno / real life-tested prior to being offered on the market.
