Excellent comfortable boots. Love the flex ankle when walking or pushing bike. Boots are well made but a bit on the heavy side compared to other boots. Toe area is slightly larger outside of boot giving a different feel under the gear shifter, previous boots had thinner material on top of foot/toe. Huge plus is the durability of the sole and grip on foot pegs! I’m starting a 1986 CR500 and have worn out the right boot sole on previous 3x pairs of boots. These are holding up great and are soft enough to grab the foot peg teeth without getting thrashed.

All of my friends wear Gaerne’s and swear by them, so I borrowed a pair from a friend and was so impressed with the comfort and mobility, I had to get a pair.
Bought this pair to replace my other pair after years of use.you won't be disappointed with these.
I wanna kick a dragon in the chin when I wear these.
Replaced an older model with out the ankle hinge with this newer design. Easier to shift, brake and walk in. I have wide feet and these work well. I did have to "adjust" one boot after finding that it had been crushed down during storage/shipping? I used a heat gun to soften the boot around the top of my foot, and then used a blood pressure cuff inside the boot to expand it. Worked like a charm. Raced in them the next day. Good lateral stiffness, I feel like the boot will last a little longer than the last pair of GX-1's
Impressive. Most impressive. Of all the new gear I bought to hop into dirt, my Gaerne SG-10's were by far the best choice I made. Quality is beyond what I could have imagined and even the girls on McDougal get jealous when I pimp these bad boys! hahaha Seriously, killer boots man. They go great with any cardigan.
Great Boots. I have a wide foot and have trouble with other boots. I heard Gaerne ran wide. I usually wear 9 1/2 to 10 in other shoes/boots. I also heard Gaernes ran a little big so i ordered size 9 and they are perfect. Very comfortable. First time using them they felt like they were already broken in. I ended up walking quite a bit in the boots and there was no rubbing or problems. Great! Don't see why I would ever need to go to another boot. I'm sold on Gaernes.
I’ve used Gaerne for the last 3 pairs. Ever since I had an epic crash where my bike crushed my ankle I have been trusting these SG10s to protect my feet. Great protection and they will take care of your feet if I take care of them. Good grip for Hard Enduro and requires no Break in. Best bang for your buck,!
These SG10's are my first fully-hinged boot and all I can say is wow, the level of comfort right out of the box is far superior than the Tech 3's I've been buying and wearing for years. As with any new boot, it will take a little bit of time to break in. For me, it only took about 3 10-15 minute practice sessions at the track. Expect a couple of missed shifts while they are still breaking in.
I wear a size 12 street shoe so I ordered a size 12 of these, and they almost fit perfectly. I almost went to an 11 as they were a little too big, but I was afraid the top buckle wouldn't close with my knee braces on, as they are already hard to do in a size 12. This is really the only drawback to the boot. I have big calves, but am still able to fit my knee braces into my boots and buckle them. It takes some finessing, but I can do it.
Overall, you cannot go wrong with these boots. Will definitely be buying again.
I have block-like Barney Rubble feet, and tried the Tech-7 boots which are supposed to run wide. They were a tad too narrow for me, but these fit the bill nicely and also appear to be of higher quality than the AS boots I tried. No cramping on the side of my foot!! Highly recommended, and for the slightly higher price they were well worth it to be comfortable. They have a nice hinge at the ankle and breakin was really easy.
Gaerne's "Grip Guard" inner panel is incorporated into the Razorback system that creates a high friction contact point between you and your bike for quality control while protecting against heat and abrasion.
