Did the Job

A little on the small side. The shop I took my Dr 650 to failed to put my stock heat shield back on so I purchased this one after burning a hole in my favorite pair of pants. Its universal so it just clamps on which makes it easy. It is quite a bit smaller than the stock one but it does the job, haven't burned a pair of pants since!

Ehhh

bought this for my 16 ktm 350 sxf that has the titanium powerbomb. it barely fit the pipe and the mounting brackets scratched the header a lot during install and riding. but it does serve its job as the heatshield just fits poorly in my opinion

Burning pants!!!

KTM 350 snowbike was melting pants like crazy! The fmf heat shield was cheap and is totally doing the trick!

Great Find!

I was looking for a nice heat shield to compliment my FMF powerbomb so I wouldn't have to deal with melted pants. The only real competition was the moose carbon one which maybe I would have went with since it seems more protective, but since I didn't have $100 to spend the FMF heat shield was a great find and I love the way it looks. It doesn't stick out that much if at all and it complements the bike well.

Exhaust Shield

It's not to fancy and doesn't stick out to much it is pretty tight and flush finish I don't believe it will be hooking on any of the gear in the trails and on the track.

No more burnt pants

I bought this guard after burning all of the pants I own. Should have bought it much sooner! Looks good and no more burnt pants

A: The biggest difference I can see, would mainly be weight since this one is made from carbon fiber instead of steel.

I have the mega bomb header for my CRF250R its not the actual expansion part of the pipe that burns me its the part where the pipe sticks the furthest out from the engine, will the shield fit right there? Because the bomb part doesn't burn me its the straight pipe that stick further out. Will it fit right there?

A: Im not certain whether the shield will fit in the location you are describing on your 250R and cant really picture where exactly you are trying to place it. It seems like you may be describing a straight section under your radiator that is different than on my bike. Attached is a photo of the shield mounted on my 450X power bomb header. This may provide you some reference as to how big it is and whether it will fit. Some further reference would be that the screw holes on the shield are 5.25 inches apart from center to center (where the clamps mount to the pipe) and the overall shield is 7 inches long. Hope that helps.
