Have used stainless steel filters for the last three years never had any problems. Always check line up of filter and spring when installing. Clean the filter with kerosene and use air nozzle to blow out any kerosene then pour a small amount of the new oil on to filter. I do over 20 to 30 oil changes a year with two bikes so this is a big money saver.

Has gone through a couple two day hare scrambles. Still works Great!
I've used most brands that manufacture / distribute SS oil filters. The FilGuard seems to be good quality, it fit well and is sold at a very competitive price. I like 'em.
This item should be used by any one who cares enough to keep their machine running in tip top shape!!!!
I've done about 8 oil changes with this filter and it's has been working great. I clean it with gasoline in a small container, dry it off and put 'er back in. I've had other stainless filters in many of my bikes and they are pretty much all the same, and I've never worn one out or torn the mesh. They pay for themselves after 4-5 oil changes.
