Rode the bike extremely hard. It seems to have broken in pretty well. Figured I'd give it a review in real time. I'd purchase it again if it's for sale.

Not for racing

I used this kit in my K6 GSXR 1000 for trackdays and club racing. It lasted approximately 2 trackdays, 3 full races and finally burned out during the 4th race (A Superstock). I was signed up for a doubleheader at Willow Springs and had to cut my weekend short due to no spare clutch kit on hand. I’ve had better luck with the OEM kit. I don’t recommend this for racing applications.

Excellent Performance

I purchased this clutch set for a modified zx-6r because the previous clutch slipped under hard acceleration. Installation was relatively simple and everything necessary was in the kit except oil, of course. I gave the set about 100mi break in to be sure everything worked properly and it's service has performed well above expectations ever since.

Q: Will this clutch kit work on my 2006 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 883

A: Sorry; the Driven Performance Clutch Kit is not available for Harley-Davidson models.
MotoSport carries Rekluse clutches for nearly all Harley-Davidson models, including the Sportster XL883 and XL1200.
Free your clutch hand with the Rekluse automatic clutch for your Harley-Davidson. Come to a complete stop in gear and accelerate without touching the clutch lever. The manual action of the clutch lever is still fully functional at any time, if desired, for shifting and taking off.
The Rekluse clutch improves low speed maneuverability - There's no need to constantly use the clutch lever in the stop-and-go traffic to prevent stalls. This is especially beneficial for heavy traffic situations and crowded bike rallies.

A: You would always want to reference your OEM service manual for any installation steps. These plates are meant to replicate your stock plates.

A: This kit includes all the Clutch Friction (fiber) Plates, Steel Plates and Springs that are required per model. I would also recommend purchasing a Clutch Cover Gasket as it is not included with the clutch kit.

Q: Are driven clutch kits good for drag racing?

Driven clutch kit

A: The driven clutch is an aftermarket high performance clutch with heavy duty springs. The heavy springs are really what make the difference though. They help the clutch lock up harder to where it does not slip. I did some research on this bike and what clutches guys are using. A lot of guys running the R1's like you, swear by the OEM clutch with heavy springs for drag racing. The Yamaha OEM clutches are very good quality but the springs are light to keep the clutch pull fairly easy for the casual riders.
