Got this to repack my 16inch Dr.D muffler. the whole process was a nightmare. the size options were 14-15 inch or 16-17 inch. I chose wrong. The extra 1inch of packing was a nightmare to deal with. It’s a one piece pillow so you can’t trim it without exposing all of the fiberglass. Honestly, I’m not a mechanic, but I’m not an idiot. I guess my advice would be to get a size down or buy a new pipe. After repacking the sound is exactly the same as before (where there was maybe 10% packing remaining) not sure if that means this stuff works or not. Just an observation.

Bought this for my 13in Dr. D exhaust. Was a bit of a challenge packing it in but once it went it worked great. I’d recommend this product for any Dr. D exhaust. Just be sure to get the right length
Repacking is always a pain but it held up pretty good during the install. More than likely I didn't wrap it tight enough around the core. Test fit your silencer first to see which orientation allows you to put everything back together. Then wrap your core good and tight......
I own a Dr. D exhaust and this was easy to install. Had the muffler off, repacked and back on in about 30mins.
Works great a little difficult to install
I purchased this packing for my DR.D exhaust thinking that it would be a simple job. It was like trying to stuff a bowling ball through a keyhole. It comes in a pillowcase, so to speak, and tears easily. I threw the whole mess away after 2 hrs. This was not my first repack job. I am a veteran technician, and have been racing, riding and repairing my bikes since I was six. Try again DR.D.
i purchased this for my 2009 kx250f that has a stock exhasut, and when i pulled the old pack out it was alot smaller than the dr.d packing that i bought, and when i was installing it, i had to cut about half of it off because it would not fit, and now totally screwed the packing up because its in a thin layer of cotten i think and all of the fiber glass just came out. so i think if you have a dr.d pipe then this is perfect because it is made for bigger pipes like that, but make sure you get the right packing that fits your exhasut.
do not purchase this repack from Dr D it is an inferior product. I do believe they have manufactured a new muffler repack possibly eliminating this one from their list of usually superior products
easiest way to repack your Dr.D pipe is order one of these and spend 30 min putting it in

Question answered by DrewKlannUser's contributor status: MotoSport Staff ExpertQuestion answered Over 11 years agoAnswer: A: Normally this packing is to be used with a DR.D exhaust, if you are looking for some packing to use with your stock exhaust I would recommend the FMF packing.

Question:Q: Will this fit the stock Pipe?Question asked Over 11 years agoSure looks much easier than re-packing the stock exhaust with the normal "wrap" . Looks as though I could clean my existing stock pipe out and shove this Dr. D. wrap in. So... will it fit?
Question answered by DrewKlannUser's contributor status: MotoSport Staff ExpertQuestion answered Over 11 years agoAnswer: A: This packing for a DR.D exhaust. Depending on the length of your can it may work, but no guarantees.
