Great product for those of us with short legs

I'm 52 yrs old, 5'7", weight is 195 lbs. My legs are short and I ride a 2008 Suzuki RMZ250 in the IXCR cross country series. I have always had trouble touching the ground when on my bike. I've cut down the seat foam and now added this awesome Devol lowering link. It did just what is says it will. It lowers the rear of the bike around 1-1 1/2" without hardly throwing off your geometry. You do, however, need to lower your forks in the triple trees the same amount of distance the rear gets lowered in order to keep the chassis balance properly. That's simply loosening your pinch bolts, sliding the forks up around an 1" and retightening. My kit came with new needle bearings, seals, center spacer and retainers already installed. I did take it apart and grease it very heavily since I race woods and typically get in water and deep mud. The other thing to remember whenever messing with the rear suspension is to RESET YOUR SAG! Most people overlook this so please find out how to do it, it's simple also, ,and do it. Overall, this took about 10 mins to install and another 5mins to adjust the sag then BOOM...I was riding. It now allows me and my short legs to touch the ground and now hopely I won't struggle so much in a woods race when I need to put my feet down for balance. Excellent fit and finish and it did just what I needed it to do.

Good

The Devol lowering link worked out good it lowered my KLX 250 where it will work for my 5"6" inseam I do not have to do any other mods to my bike. The picture shows the needle bearings but they do not come with the kit you only get the dog bone arms. Make sure your final plate has started on the shoulder bolt before you start to tighten up any bolts of nuts.

Devol link

Lowers rear of bike nicely, was able to turn springs back firm and still get my feet on ground, 2 bolts & a floor jack with my buddy holding handlebars, 30 minutes.

Customer service is amazing

The lowering link it self does the job perfectly. Super easy to install and made a huge difference for my wife who is 5'3. Originally the links got lost in the mail. I made one call to customer service and they shipped me out another no questions asked

Waste of money

Put this on my wife’s Yamaha wr 250, lowered the seat height 1/4 inch. What a complete waste of time and money. Very disappointed.

A: I am unclear about your question. I don't know why you would not be able to run a lowering link on your bike at a particular track, but I would suggest asking the track owner if there is a reason that you could not run it.

Q: I ride a 2016 KTM XC 250. I’m 5’8” and ride single track most every weekend. Would this help in keeping the rear end tracking straighter.

A: This link isn't designed with that specifically in mind. This link is designed as a lowering link which will dramatically lower seat height, and therefor is not recommended for advanced or aggressive riders.

Q: Does it help the handling of the bike as in feeling more planted and hooking up better like the pro circuit one will?

A: Adding a lowering link does not make the bike feel more planted. It is a mechanism that simply allows for the bike to be lower to the ground. The downside to adding this item is that it elongates the bike, which changes the handling characteristics.

A: Not sure what the question here, but length of lowering link is dependent on which bike this is made for.

A: This will lower the bike 1 inch, Devol is a very quality product and should have no issue with standing the pressure.
