Question: Alarm Range
Question asked 2 years 2 months ago
My bike parks in the basement, and I am living on second floor. In terms of vertical distance, it is definitely less than 1/2 mile. But I am wondering if it still works going through 3 floors of concrete and space.

Question: Warning Sound
Question asked Over 5 years ago
will this alarm give off a warning sound or beep before going full out? And if it does, is this when you will be paged or only once the alarm is fully triggered?

Answer: No, there is no warning. If the motion detector is triggered the alarm will go off and you will receive a page if you are within the 1/2 mile range.

Bully Alarm Lock With Pager

Question answered Over 5 years ago
Answer: The Lock body and U-Shackle are hard-to-cut, high tempered Steel, so smashing it with the hammer should only activate the alarm and not harm the lock. The Alarm can withstand temperatures between - 22 degrees F to + 175 degrees F, has a high electrical resistance (can withstand 200,00 volts), and immediately sends a message to the pager if it senses an unusual electrical surge.

To remove the battery, you have to remove the Shackle, then remove the Retaining Screw holding the Protective Cover on the alarm and remove the Protective Cover, and then remove another Screw to open the Battery Cover. So, removing the battery while the lock is being used would be very difficult.
Attached is a page from the instruction manual showing where the battery is kept:

Question: Power source?
Question asked Over 6 years ago
What kind of power source powers the unit? Batteries? If batteries, what kind and how long will batteries typical last? Is there a feature that tells you when the batteries get low?
Question answered by MotoSportExpert

Question answered Over 6 years ago
Answer: The actual lock needs a 9 volt battery (included), and the pager uses 1 AAA battery (included). We do not have a figure on how long the batteries will last, as people use the alarm for different amounts of time, different batteries outlast others, etc. The pager will sound a warning, and show a low battery icon when that needs to be replaced, and the alarm lock will sound weaker, and beep three times.

Question asked by CAfromCA

Question: Does the alarm sound at the bike or only on the pager?
Question asked Over 6 years ago
I am wondering if the alarm goes off when someone starts messing with the lock...to scare them away hopefully. Pager...less interesting to me.

Answer: Yes, the lock itself has a built in alarm that will go off if the bike is moved. The pager itself will go off to notify you that the alarm is sounding at your bike.
