This tool works very well; especially with stiffer sidewalls. Saves knuckles and a lot of cussing. Maybe a pro can do the job without this job and without offending the neighbors, but not me. Several reviewers commented on the poor quality. I think they have a valid point. I am on my second tool. I got probably six or eight jobs out of my first tool before the cable frayed. Be gentle with it and you should be okay. Don't just try to jerk the stem through. Keep a slight tension on the cable with one hand while you work the stem around inside the rim with your other hand.

Overall this is a pretty good tool. How long it will last? That will remain to be seen. I have used it twice. Both time it has performed flawlessly. I am a little concerned with the being able to hold up to much abuse. However, a cable much bigger will make the tool harder to use. At the price, order a couple so you have a spare. It is well worth it to save the hands and knuckles.
This tool looks good on paper, doesn't help at all in real life. Furthermore, the wire got frayed through between the tire and the rim so it's broken after one use. Just as well.
Saves time on installation of valve stem in rim, also saves knuckles!
This is a great idea that is poorly executed. There needs to be a swivel where the cable connects to the fitting that screws into the tube. Since the cable is "hardwired" into the fitting the cable get's twisted up and in my case broke.
Makes changing your tube/tires at home a breeze...............no more fingers or knuckles anymore. fast!
