Good stuff

Everything you need and more to do a routine top end, but it’s pricey compared to a Vertex or other gasket kits. I guess it’s the price you pay for the performance of the Athena Factory Cylinder kit.

Question: There are three base gaskets in the new Athena cylinder kit that I bought for a YZ 125. Which ones do I use?
Question asked Over 6 years ago
There is a clear plastic piece, and black gasket, and a green gasket - all of which are cut to go between the crankcase and the cylinder for a YZ 125. Which of the three gaskets should I use? Or do I use all three? Which order do they get used in if all three should be used?

Answer: The gaskets are different thicknesses to achieve the correct amount of squish in the top end by raising or lowering the cylinder. For this kit, Athena recommends 1.1mm of squish. If you are not sure how to set the squish, there are plenty of documents online that will show how it is measured, or it is recommended to take the bike to an experienced mechanic to have it assembled properly.
