This is a very simple kit consisting of just a few very small components. Essentially it's everything you need in order to block off the emissions equipment on on your CRF250X. The kit came with everything needed (not a whole lot), and some basic instructions. The instructions themselves could have had better pictures and a little more detail, but the whole job isn't very complicated, so you'll figure it out. Other reviewers have said no performance increase was experienced, but that wasn't the case for me. I noticed an immediate boost in throttle response and it got rid of an annoying deceleration backfire and popping I was experiencing. To date, this is my favorite mod for my 250x.

Totally new motor with the emissions block off kit. Can’t believe what the state of CA makes the rest of us try and live our lives at a lesser level. Your bike won’t won’t run like it should unless it is removed.
purchased bike new and was having nothing but problems with starting bike and in general it ran like garbage. Installed this kit very quickly and it was noticeably better just starting and idling after riding it was confirmed this fix worked wonders. I highly recommend doing this modification before anything else.
2009 Honda CRF-250X:
Install: The directions were not very good and a bit hard to follow. With a few minutes for rereading I was able to install the kit no problem. The parts looked just a shown and fit like a glove.
Difference: I'm 280 LPS of fat, I noticed a HUGE difference in the low range and torque. I have an after market FMF pipe and when coming down from higher RPM's I would get alot of back fire and sputtering. This mod made all that go away.
Bought for 2012 with smog pump still on the bike. Follow directions and easy install. I also opened up the air box (cut to off, no side vent cuts), installed DJ jetting kit, flex fuel screen adjuster and a FM q pipe. The decel popping went away and gave the bike more power. The fuel screw did not seem to make a difference to jetting until I removed the smog pump. It was worth the cost as did not need to spend hours making a block off kit. I had it installed in about 30 minutes (but already had the bike apart to mod the airbox and put in a stiffer rear shock spring. Looks good too!
I have had this on for a few months now and had no issues. Installation was pretty simple and allowed me to shed a few pounds by getting rid of the emissions equipment.
Was debating on whether or not I needed this kit as it does not increase horsepower at all, but soon found out it was well worth it, makes working on the bike much easier and it gives it a much cleaner appearance. Instructions were great too
Nice to get rid of that useless air induction system.
I read a lot about cost. the directions are straightforward and it goes right on. If you can not pay you can not afford to play. It is a great little product.

Question:Q: Emissions Block OffQuestion asked Over 6 years agoAfter installing my Emissions Block Off Kit... Do I need to do anything to my jet system? I have a Honda 250x 2005
Question answered by rockandride6User's contributor status:Question answered Over 6 years agoAnswer: A: I found that it did lean the bike up a good bit, but adjusting the fuel mixture screw was enough for me. Note that I do NOT have stock jetting as I rejetted after exhaust.
Question answered by MotoSportExpertUser's contributor status: MotoSport StaffQuestion answered Over 6 years agoAnswer: A: As long as your bike is currently jetted correctly, your 2005 CRF250X will not require re-jetting.
