Notes on Manufacturer Chain Type:
- SRS-ring - Renthal proprietary X-ring design. The special SRS ring is pre-loaded during assembly creating a spring effect. As the chain wears, conventional O-rings and X-rings lose their seal integrity, whereas the SRS ring is designed to maintain itself during use, keeping a tighter seal against the side plates. This offers increased longevity as the specially formulated grease remains incased around the critical pin and bushing area longer while also keeping dirt, water and other contaminants out.
- TG-ring - Sunstar proprietary X-ring design. TripleGuard sealed ring technology where there are 3 sealing lips and lubrication pools on each side of the ring to maintain top performance in high heat, extreme conditions; the TripleGuard ring type is the best for lubrication and protection.
Note: Image is for reference ONLY, actual product will vary based on fitment and selection.
Note for installing X-ring chains: As X-ring chains are wider than standard roller chains, when fitting an X-ring chain to a motorcycle that was fitted with a non O-ring chain as original equipment, it is essential to check that there is proper clearance of the engine cases near the countershaft sprocket and any other places of close contact. Failure to do so could result in damage to the chain and motorcycle and could ultimately cause the chain to fail.

Renthal 520 R3-3 SRS Chain:
Renthal R3-3 chains are specially developed utilizing Renthal's SRS technology to increase the service life.
The special SRS is pre-loaded during assembly, creating a spring effect. As a chain wears, conventional O-rings and X-rings loosen their seal whereas the SRS has the inherent ability to regulate a constant sealing pressure against the side plates throughout the life of the chain.
This offers increased longevity, as the specially formulated grease remains encapsulated around the critical pin and bushing area longer whilst preventing ingress of dirt, water and other contaminants.
- SRS Technology: Nitrile Self Regulating Seals (SRS) retain a special vacuum-injected grease around the critical pin and bush area, which extends the life of the chain.
- Shot Peened: Shot-peened alloy steel side plates for high tensile strength and maximum impact load resistance.
- High Carbon Steel Pins: High carbon alloy steel bearing pins for excellent prolonged resistance to wear, for both road and off-road riding conditions.
- Special Finish: Special finish: gold colored side plates and copper colored rollers help prevent corrosion.
- Pre Stretched: To help with an easy setup, each R3 chain is pre-stretched meaning adjustments are not required.
- Spec: Available in 520 pitch only, average tensile strength: R3-3 520 - 7420 pounds.
- Perfect Match: Most perfectly matched chain for Renthal Chainwheels (sold separately) allowing maximum power at the rear wheel. This also extends the life of both the chain and chainwheels.
- Notes: The Rivet link has also been changed to a hollow end to facilitate easier installation. Like the R3.2, a split link is still included in the box for easy track side fitment.

The Sunstar 520SSR O-ring chain (SSR = Standard Sealed Ring) is a heavy duty, long lasting sealed chain that uses only the highest quality rubber O-rings that maintain lubricity, resulting in less friction and the smoothest transfer of power. It is also an extremely strong option for an O-ring chain with a 7,670-pound tensile strength rating and seamless roller and bushing construction. It is constructed with a special heat-treated alloy steel for added strength and life. This great, versatile sealed ring chain is available only in 520 chain pitch for any motorcycle up to 400cc in the natural color option (non-gold) and in pre-cut lengths. It uses clip-type connecting link.
- High quality, durable and long lasting standard O-ring chain recommended for any motorcycle up to 400cc.
- Constructed of special, heat-treated alloy steel for the best possible strength and lifespan.
- O-rings keep the chain well lubricated, resulting in less friction and consistent power transfer.
- Available only in Natural finish.
- Average tensile strength of 7,700 pounds.
- Maximum rated displacement (street / off-road): 400cc / 400cc.
- Weight (per 100 links): 3.35 pounds.
- Includes press fit clip-style master link.
- Note: NOT suggested for competition.
Note for installing O-ring chains: As O-ring chains are wider than standard roller chains, when fitting an O-ring chain to a motorcycle that was fitted with a non O-ring chain as original equipment, it is essential to check that there is proper clearance of the engine cases near the countershaft sprocket and any other places of close contact. Failure to do so could result in damage to the chain and motorcycle and could ultimately cause the chain to fail.

Sunstar 520 XTG TripleGuard Sealed ATV & Offroad Chain:
An excellent choice for the most extreme off-road conditions encountered in ATV and/or off-road motorcycle racing, Sunstar's premier sealed Works level chain is the 520XTG (XTG = Xtreme Triple Guard). It features Sunstar's TripleGuard sealed ring technology meaning there are 3 sealing lips and lubrication pools per side of the ring versus a single sided lip that is typical of standard O-rings. This design effectively protects the critical areas of the chain from mud, sand, dirt and the harsh conditions encountered in off-road racing (hence the name Xtreme for extreme conditions) and the chain stays well lubricated for a long duration of use. The XTG is perfect for all ATV's and off-road motorcycles 750cc or less. All components are 100% heat treated and its tensile strength is rated at 8,460 pounds. It's offered in pre-cut lengths and uses a press fit, clip-type connecting link in the gold color option (gold outer plates / natural inners).
- Top of the line ATV and off-road racing chain.
- Features exclusive TG (TripleGuard) sealed-ring technology to guard the chain from sand or dirt entering and causing wear.
- Built specifically for handling the most extreme conditions encountered in ATV and off-road motorcycle racing.
- TG-ring design prevents the loss of lubricant and is deigned to perform in any extreme heat or other course conditions.
- Available only in Gold (gold outer plates / natural inners) finish.
- Average tensile strength of 8,500 pounds.
- Maximum rated displacement (street / off-road): 400cc / 750cc.
- Weight (per 100 links): 3.36 pounds.
- Includes press fit clip-style master link.
