A rekluse clutch will turn a fire breathing 450 into a woods weapon, once set up properly....provided you have also set up your suspension, your sag, jetting, etc....Bike setup is so important......however, there is no other single modification you can make, that will have as much positive result as a rekluse. For you four stroke guys.....how about, no more worries about stalling? not necessary to pull in the clutch going into turns at speed and applying a little brake steering? forget the need for electric start.....if you don't stall your bike, you don't need to start your bike 20 times a day.....I can ride my yz450 all day, and never stall it 1 time.....I am a

Rekluse Z start pro, I would recommend this product to a rider who doesn't ride motocross (well B class or higher. if your new C class and blow rider this is a good clutch to learn on a motocross track), this set up doesn't allow you to feather the clutch, or slip the clutch, its strictly Auto clutch. yes you can pull the clutch lever all the way in once it hits your grip you can rev it in gear, but when your going fast into a deep sand turn your cant feather the clutch to get RPMs back up to pull out of the turn, its like driving a tractor in away. also at higher RPM the clutch lever free play is different thats why you have to so much free play at idle rpm to allow expansion.
down shifting on a motocross track is hard, you have to down shift early into turns to keep the RPMs up, and you have to be patient while down shifting. you gain more engine braking this way. can be good or bad, depends on soil. some corners i felt faster in, but most felt slower, you have to have good throttle control/ or have good roll on power since you cant feather the clutch for more power. having a 450 is not a big problem but if i was on a 250f i would give this a 3 star.
i took advantage of the 30 day demo ride in hopes of keeping the clutch. but I returned it. I race motocross, hare scrambles, and gnarly trails with ton of rocks and very steep hills, the z start pro was amazing in the trails and hare scramble race. i raced my first hare scramble race at Portland trail riders in Michigan in the 2hr B class and placed 3rd. without this clutch i would have been mid pack but with out being able feather the clutch was a deal beaker i lost alot of time in sandy turns. i purchased the rekluse exp core full kit. hopefully i wil like that much better because it says you retain your stock clutch lever feel

I wish I had bought this years ago. Easy to install with u tube video, instructions suck that come with it. Everything that I read about this clutch is true. I will never have a dirt bike with out one again.
I have been rubbing the z start for the past 5 years and would never race without it. The ability to not stall or have to be worried about pulling in the clutch when you slam on your rear brakes makes it worth every $ spent. Low maintenance and easy enough to change out the plates.
I bought a used bike with this product installed already. I was thinking it wasn't a hard corp MX product. I was wrong you can ride faster and in more control with a Rekluse Clutch! Works just like a regular clutch when you want it to for doing wheelies and other things. I will upgrade all of my future bike to Rekluse!

Used the recluse on my YZ450F. Now I can ride it though the woods like a trail bike! (without the stalling in the tight stuff) Would recomend to everyone, from new riders to pro's!!!
Resisted getting one for years, finally gave in after my riding buddies kept bragging the benefits. Wish I had bought one sooner, amazing benefits, especially on my CR500af, makes it even more fun to ride, it really is like cheating. Cornering is amazing, increased traction control, reduced arm pump, less to think about while racing, and oh yeah, it WON'T stall! A very cool addition to a bike I already loved. It's like having a super powerful, better handling, larger KLX110. But, you can shift with, or without clutch. Haven't had it for too long yet, but if the quality of construction is any indication of durability, it should operate for many trouble free hours.
