The 2017 Beta 300 RR receives the new frame design introduced across Beta’s RR enduro lineup this year. The redesigned chrome-moly steel chassis combines with the 300cc liquid-cooled two-stroke — the most powerful engine in the range — to create a big-bore enduro machine with fundamentally different handling characteristics. The KYB 48mm fork and Sachs rear shock are recalibrated for the new frame’s geometry and flex characteristics. Electronic oil injection, reed valve induction, power valve system, and six-speed gearbox continue to deliver the 300’s signature massive low-end torque. With both a new frame and maximum engine output, precise torque on every fastener is essential from the first ride.

New Frame & Chassis

The 2017 frame redesign is the most significant chassis change to the 300 RR platform. New geometry, revised flex characteristics, and updated suspension mounting points transform how the bike handles. The 300’s massive torque output loads the new frame differently than the lighter-engine models — making initial setup torque and early re-torque checks even more important. A comprehensive torque verification after the first 3–5 hours of riding is strongly recommended.

Dry vs. Wet Torque

All values assume dry threads. The 300’s 40 Nm head nut spec is the most sensitive to wet conditions in the lineup. Wet threads at 40 Nm produce nearly 50 Nm of clamping force. The new frame’s fresh mounting bosses are also sensitive to over-clamping. Reduce torque 15–20% when any compound is present.

New Frame + Maximum Power = Maximum Vigilance

The combination of a brand-new frame and the most powerful engine in the range creates the highest-stakes torque scenario in Beta’s entire enduro lineup. Fresh frame material under the 300’s massive torque loads settles differently than under a lighter engine. Over-torquing new mounting bosses risks permanent deformation. Under-torquing under the 300’s loads allows rapid fastener loosening. The 300’s ability to break traction in any gear means every drivetrain and chassis connection is tested to its limit.

Thread Locker Application

Medium-strength (blue) thread locker for the 2017 Beta 300 RR:

  • Rear sprocket nuts
  • All disc bolts
  • Linkage bolts
  • Subframe bolts
  • Exhaust mount hardware
  • Skid plate bolts
  • Power valve cover bolts

Torque Wrench Selection

A 3/8-inch drive click-type for 15–100 Nm and a 1/4-inch drive for 10 Nm hardware. Two drive sizes and meticulous technique are essential for the most demanding torque scenario in Beta’s enduro range — a new frame with the most powerful engine in the lineup.
