In its second production year, the 2013 Beta 350 RR refines the mid-displacement four-stroke enduro with improved fueling and detail updates. The 349cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder with four valves, electronic fuel injection, and six-speed gearbox has benefited from a full year of production feedback. The steel perimeter frame, KYB 48mm fork, and Sachs rear shock provide the proven chassis. The 350’s appeal is its balance — lighter and more agile than the 450, more powerful than the 250, with a broad, forgiving powerband that suits a wide range of enduro conditions. Maintaining that balance requires the specific torque discipline a four-stroke demands.

Dry vs. Wet Torque

The oil drain plug threads are always wet — reduce 15–20% when sealant is applied. All other values assume dry threads.

Oil Service & the 350’s Aluminum Case

Regular oil changes are the four-stroke’s most frequent maintenance item. The 350’s aluminum engine case has a limited number of drain plug removal and reinstallation cycles before thread wear becomes a concern. At 20 Nm, the drain plug is secure without stressing the threads. A torque wrench — not feel — prevents the slow thread damage that leads to oil leaks on high-hour four-stroke engines. Similarly, the oil filter cover bolts at 10 Nm must be precise to avoid cracking the cover or rounding the bolt heads.

Thread Locker Recommendations

Medium-strength (blue) thread locker for the 2013 Beta 350 RR:

  • Rear sprocket nuts
  • All disc bolts
  • Linkage bolts
  • Subframe bolts
  • Exhaust header bolts
  • Skid plate bolts

Torque Wrench Selection

A 3/8-inch drive click-type for 20–100 Nm and a 1/4-inch drive for 10–12 Nm valve cover and cam hardware. Two drive sizes for the balanced 350cc four-stroke enduro.
