The 2010 Beta 400 RR continues the established 398cc DOHC four-valve single in the steel perimeter frame with updates to the chassis and suspension. A redesigned frame provides improved handling characteristics, and the switch to KYB suspension components replaces the previous Marzocchi fork. The 400’s generous displacement continues to provide strong mid-range torque for technical enduro riding. The chassis update introduces new engine mount locations and load paths, while the KYB fork uses different clamp bolt configurations. Riders upgrading from earlier 400 RR models should note the revised chassis hardware while maintaining the same engine torque specifications.

Dry vs. Wet Torque
Oil drain plug: always wet; reduce 15–20% with sealant. All other values assume dry threads.
Thread Locker Application
Medium-strength (blue) thread locker for the 2010 Beta 400 RR:
- Rear sprocket nuts
- All disc bolts
- Linkage bolts
- Subframe bolts
- Exhaust header bolts
- Skid plate bolts
Torque Wrench Selection
A 3/8-inch drive click-type for 20–100 Nm and a 1/4-inch drive for 10–12 Nm hardware. Two drive sizes for the redesigned 400cc enduro.
