  Notes on Manufacturer Chain Type:

  • Q4 seal-ring - BikeMaster's X-ring design, Q4 seal-ring chains offer 1.5 to 2 times longer wear resistance than regular O-ring chains. Q4 seal-ring technology provides superior wear resistance, higher impact resistance and fatigue strength while also giving less friction, which leads to less power loss, almost half that of standard O-ring chain.
  • SX2-ring - Slim-sized SX2 ring strengthen the stiffness by reducing clearance between plates. SX2 ring has better wear-resistant performance than SX ring by 30%.
  • Quadra-X ring - EK Chains proprietary X-ring style.
  • ZX-ring - Adopted new ZX-ring and lasts 15% longer than ZVX series.
  • SRS-ring - Renthal proprietary X-ring design. The special SRS ring is pre-loaded during assembly creating a spring effect. As the chain wears, conventional O-rings and X-rings lose their seal integrity, whereas the SRS ring is designed to maintain itself during use, keeping a tighter seal against the side plates. This offers increased longevity as the specially formulated grease remains incased around the critical pin and bushing area longer while also keeping dirt, water and other contaminants out.
  • RX-ring - RK proprietary X-ring design. RK RX-ring seals are made from an advanced Nitrile Butadiene composite for maximum performance and wear life. Viewed in cross-section, the RK "RX-Ring" has two lubrication pools and seal points versus the single seal point / pool design of a regular O-ring chain.
  • XW-ring - RK proprietary X-ring design. Uses an advanced design with XW-Ring construction for better sealing that provides extended wear and chain life up to 100% over conventional chains. XW-Ring chains are the best high-speed, extreme heat performance chains available today.
  • UW-Ring - UW ring thickness is 50% thinner than O-ring with longer life time.
  • DG-ring - Sunstar proprietary X-ring design. DualGuard sealed ring street bike chain technology where the sealing ring has an 'X' shape - meaning there are two sealing points and two lubrication pools versus the one-sided, single-lip design of a standard O-ring. This sealed ring design type dramatically improves lubricity in high heat conditions while providing lower friction and longer chain life.
  • TG-ring - Sunstar proprietary X-ring design. TripleGuard sealed ring technology where there are 3 sealing lips and lubrication pools on each side of the ring to maintain top performance in high heat, extreme conditions; the TripleGuard ring type is the best for lubrication and protection.
  • Duo Glide (X-ring) - Vortex proprietary X-ring design. Duo Glide seal design reduces heat and friction resulting in a 7 times longer wear life than a standard O-ring chain.
  • Tri Glide (X-ring) - Vortex proprietary X-ring design. Tri Glide seal provides 3 pockets of lubrication and two stabilizers ultimately reducing heat, friction, and increasing wear life by as much as 10 times over standard O-ring chains.

  D.I.D 520 ZVMX X-Ring Chain:

D.I.D's engineers are continuously improving chain designs in order to handle the tremendous horsepower loads of today's high performance motorcycles. In developing the new DID ZVM-X series, D.I.D focused on "Rigidity." Traditionally, "Tensile Strength" has been the bench-mark to indicate overall strength, but tensile strength is only a laboratory static measurement of a chain's fracture point. Rigidity, on the other hand, is the ability of a chain to withstand the forces that occur in the real world that riders experience. Increased rigidity means better power transfer from the engine to the ground, greater resistance to stretching under load, and overall improved performance that meets the demands of the current high-power bikes and the people who ride them.

  • Increased rigidity for better power transfer and greater resistance to stretching under load.
  • Overall improved performance that meet the demands of the current high-power bikes.
  • Designed to meet requirements of machines bigger than 1000cc.
  • Same excellent characteristics of the ZVM chains, but its new X2-ring design provides 40 percent greater wear resistance and better overall chain life.
  • Average tensile strength of 8,745 pounds.
  • Wear life index: 3500.
  • For use on Superbikes; maximum rated displacement 1200cc.
  • Weight (per 100 links): 3.59 pounds.
  • Includes a rivet-style master link.

Half the Power Loss - Compared with Normal O-ring chains, D.I.D's patented X-Ring construction reduces friction by twisting between the side plates instead of being squashed. Normal O-rings and other makers' modified O-rings have squashed points that increase friction. The twisting action of the X-Ring disperses the pressure and minimizes power loss.

1.5 to 2 Times Longer Wear Resistance - Compared with Normal O-ring chains, the X-Ring's four contact points greatly increase its sealing performance. This keeps the dirt out and the lubrication in much better than any other O-ring. X-Rings have the greatest wear resistance of any other type of O-ring or non-O-ring chain.
