Step 1: Let the Engine Cool Down

Never attempt to open the radiator cap on a hot engine. Hot coolant is under pressure and can severely burn you. Allow the CX65 to cool completely before starting the procedure.

Step 2: Remove the Radiator Cap

Locate the radiator cap on the left side of the bike. Open it slowly to release any residual pressure.

Step 3: Drain the Old Coolant

  • With the cap removed, gently rock the bike side to side to dislodge air bubbles.
  • Start the engine and let it idle for a minute or two. Watch for escaping air bubbles at the neck (do not rev or run hard).
  • As bubbles escape, the fluid level may drop–top it off as needed.
  • Some CX65s have a return hose at the rear of the radiator–if equipped, briefly loosen to let trapped air escape, then retighten.

Step 8: Check for Leaks and Final Fill

  • Turn off the engine and allow it to cool to ambient temperature.
  • Check the radiator and reservoir levels again and top up if necessary.
  • Inspect all connections for leaks.

Step 9: Reinstall Panels & Clean Up

Reinstall any shrouds or covers removed earlier. Wipe up any spilled coolant, and properly dispose of old coolant at an authorized recycling point.
