Step-by-Step Coolant Change Procedure

- Position your drain pan beneath the right side of the engine.

Locate and remove the water pump drain bolt.
*Find the 8mm bolt at the bottom edge of the water pump cover (right side of the engine casing, behind the brake pedal). Loosen carefully. As you remove the last few threads, be prepared for a steady stream of coolant.* - Allow the system to drain completely. Rock the bike gently or lean from side to side to fully empty both radiators.
- Inspect the old coolant. Dirty, cloudy, or rusty coolant may indicate other issues and the need for more frequent changes.
- Replace and torque the water pump drain bolt. Clean the threads and gasket area before reinstalling.

Refill with fresh coolant.
*Slowly pour new coolant into the radiator fill neck using a funnel until you see fluid at the top. Gently squeeze the radiator hoses to help evacuate trapped air.* - Start the engine and run at idle for a few minutes with the radiator cap off. Keep an eye on the coolant–if the level drops as air escapes, top off as needed. Shut off the engine once the level stabilizes.
- Reinstall the radiator cap. Ensure it is seated and tightened securely.
