Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Let the Bike Cool:

  2. Remove the Seat and Side Panels:
    For easier access to the radiator cap and components, take off the seat and side plastic panels. On the TE250, the seat can be removed by lifting at the rear after undoing the securing screw.
  3. Open the Radiator Cap:

  4. Locate the Coolant Drain Bolt:

    Using a funnel, slowly pour new coolant into the radiator until it reaches the filler neck. The TE250's cooling system capacity is just over 1 liter–check your manual for exact specifications.
  9. Remove Air Bubbles:
    To avoid airlocks, gently rock the bike side to side and tap the radiator hoses. Top off the coolant if the level drops, as trapped air escapes.
  10. Replace the Radiator Cap:
    Once the coolant level is stable, reinstall the cap by pressing it down, turning clockwise until the release button locks.
  11. Reassemble Seat and Panels:
    Reinstall the seat and any side panels you removed earlier.
  12. Start and Check:
    Start your TE250 and let it idle until it reaches operating temperature. Watch the coolant level and check for leaks. After cooling back down, recheck and top off the coolant if needed.
