- Reinstall and torque the water pump drain bolt to 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft) using your torque wrench.
- Slowly pour fresh coolant into the radiator using a funnel. Fill until coolant reaches the bottom of the radiator filler neck, just above the fins.
- Bleed trapped air:
- KTM recommends slightly elevating the front end of the bike during filling to help bubbles escape from the cylinder and radiator system–this is especially helpful on 250XCFW models where air locks can develop.
- Gently squeeze the radiator hoses and tap the radiators during filling to encourage trapped air to rise.
- Reinstall the radiator cap securely.
- Start the engine and let it idle with the radiator cap in place. Run until warm (thermostat opens), then shut off and allow it to cool completely.
- Check coolant level once more in the radiator. Top off as needed. Also check your overflow reservoir, if equipped, and adjust the level to the indicated mark.
