Top-End Service Torque Notes
For the 2002 CR125, a standard MX top-end service interval is approximately 10–15 hours. During top-end service, always use a new cylinder head gasket and base gasket—reusing these gaskets on a two-stroke risks head sealing failure. After assembly, torque the cylinder head bolts in a cross pattern in two passes, allow the engine to cool after the first heat cycle, and verify the head bolts one more time. This final check takes two minutes and ensures the gasket is fully seated before the bike returns to regular use.
