Looking to reduce weight and look good doing it?
One of the easiest ways to make your bike handle dramatically better is with a lighter set of motorcycle wheels. In doing that, you're not only reducing the amount of unsprung weight on your bike, but the general rule is that for every pound you save on a wheel weight, that equates to about 2.5lb of sprung weight. The difference being that sprung weight is the bike itself, and unsprung weight is everything that's 'below' the suspension and is in contact with the road (wheels, brakes, etc). By installing lighter weight components, which are generally stronger as well, you'll notice a huge difference in the way your bike rides. It'll feel lighter, nimbler and the turn-in will be sharper. Plus, let's be honest, our selection of Marchesini wheels definitely aren't bad to look at.
Marchesini, if you can't tell by the name, is an Italian company devoted to making the lightest, strongest motorcycle wheels possible. They're commonly seen on Ducatis and lots of other high-end sport bikes, often being a hideously expensive factory option. Well, not any more. Sure, they're an investment, but it's an investment with instant rewards. Your bike will not only handle far better, but will look drop dead gorgeous sporting a set of Marchesini Forged Magnesium SBK Wheels.
Warm it up.
Heading to the track? Bring along a set of tire warmers from MotoSport. We carry all the brands you know, like Chicken Hawk and Woodcraft. Why would you want to warm your tires before you ride? All tires have an optimum operating temperature. When they reach it, the rubber compound is at its stickiest and the carcass at it's most flexible. Below that temperature, grip is reduced and the tire may have a tendency to slide. Eliminate that possibility by employing a set of tire warmers, designed to raise the temperature slowly and thoroughly, getting your tire up to the optimum temperature before you hit the track.
