Replacement Tire

I bought this tire to replace the stock tire I had on my 2001 KDX 200 and taking it out on the trails this past weekend I am very satisfied with how it performs. I don't have any complaints about the Maxxis after riding in conditions ranging from wet and muddy to dry and extremely sandy. I would recommend replacing the front tire as well with something a little more aggressive even if the stock tire still has good tread on it because after ridding with the Maxxis in the back and stock in the front I found that I didn't have as much control now that I had more traction in the back.

Great Bargain!

Purchased this tire for my kids Yamaha ttr110! Perfect fit! Holds up well and extremely durable considering the abuse my 2 boys put it through! aggressive looking tread pattern handles well in pasture and rock surface! Will definitely replace front tire with same Maxxis tire!

Great tire

I have used a a lot of different brands of tires and I ride all types of terrain and this is by far the most versatile tire. It works in all conditions and wears great. Unlike a some of the more expensive brands it doesn't wear out after 2 rides

Good deal

Tire change was rough due to the tire being hard rubber but that's what WD40 is for Great tread nice and smooth coming out of corners If you can believe this I rode on the road for about9 miles still the the manufacturer nipples still in contact need to buy more Just for the front though,

Good as any, better than most

Replaced front and back Dunlop enduro tires. Greatly improved performance and handling. Hills, rocks, hardpack, loose dirt or gravel, no challenge. Haven't been in mud yet, but expect similar results. Great value. Great tires.

Great woods tire

riding in western montana, i find this maxxis medium tire works best for the loose, sharp rocky environment. i am over 200lbs and most tires chunk out, but this one wears quite evenly. excellent investment

Both are great tires. Depending on the terrain you will be on the Maxxcross IT tire provides superb handling in a wide veriety of terrain conditions where as the Maxxis Maxxcross SI provides traction and performance in soft/intermediate terrain.

I ride motocross in south caorlina. Mainly hard packed tracks. What's your suggestion for the most durable hardpack mx tire?
I'm very hard on my tires.

The Maxxis Maxxcross IT tire is one of the most durable tires available. However, where it makes up in durability, it gives a little in performance due to the hard compound. The other option for another good long lasting tire for hard packed terrain with good performance would be the Artrax MX-Pro which you can find here: http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/ARTRAX-MXPRO-REAR-TIRE

How old are the tires being sold.?
If i bought this tire today, will it be a new tire or one that has been sitting in the wear house for a long time?

We move through our tire inventory fairly quick. None of our tires sit in the warehouse for a very long periods of time. When you receive the tire you can verify the age of the tire based on the date code on the sidewall.

What is the tube size for this tire?
I bought a tube from this website and it was a front tire not a rear tire. So I'm trying to get this right and I need help on it.

For the 90/100-14 tire any 90/100-14 tube should work just fine.

On my current dirt bike, my rear tire size is 130/70-19, will a rear tire that is 110/90-19 fit ?
MotoSport Staff
2 years 2 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
MotoSportExpert
Yes the 110/90-19 will fit your 2001 RM250. 110/90-19 is actually the stock size tire. Im assuming the tire that you have on there is a Michelin Tire. Michelin sizes their tires differently than the other brands. Their 130/70-19 is equivalent to the other companies 110/90-19's.

I am trying to decide in whether to get this tire or the dunlop geomax mx51?
i ride in mostly hardpacked trails with lots of rocks and do hillclimbs.

As far as traction goes, both tires will perform great. If you are looking for a more durable longer lasting tire- the Maxxis IT in rocky terrain will not wear out as quick.

I went with this tire, and I live in Arizona. All I can say is super impressed, Ive got about 300 miles and have around 45% tread left. The only thing I haven't tried is the Maxxis Maxxcross IT Desert, that is the only tire better that I could see.

I shared your concerns....especially about the hardpack. I ride in the Sierra Nevadas and Prarie City SVRA. Some gravel, lots of hardpack. They work great...better than I expected. One of the best hill climb tires I've been on.

not sure what you mean by inner tubing? possibly the tube or are you refering to the rim strip? anyways, no its just the tire just use your old tube as long as there are no leaks and use your old rim strip as long as its in good condition

The lettering is not raised it is flush matching the rest of the tire. The color is yellow and it sets this tire apart from other brands. This tire is different and i like that. Not to mention it looks mean . Its an overall great tire
