My hope was that I could get away with just these and not need knee brace sleeves. Unfortunatley they are just a tiny bit too short to work for that. They basically come up to the top of my Asterisk knee braces, but no extra room to roll the top over. So they end up sliding down a little bit while I ride. But other than that they are really cushy and comfortable. I am 6'1" with a 32 inch inseam, so if you have shorter legs than me they would probably work for you just as I was hoping they would work for me. Maybe they will stretch after a few ride and then work.

I purchased 2 pair based on the reviews and I am pleased with what I received. I have been riding with long socks for a few years now. My current old socks are Fxx & Sxxxt. They are great to wear and stretch over my knee pads, but are flimsy - the Sxxxt blew out the toe box the 2nd ride and the Fxx ones are holey but still used. These have some substance and I like the cushioned soles. They are not as long as my others, but I have small feet and purchased the small/medium so that may explain that.
I missed the bullet point about these being mid thigh length. I am almost 6' tall and if I pulled hard enough, I could probably get them to touch my junk. My fault. They are pretty thin, but feel really comfortable so far.
The bottom line is yes they are worth every penny. I love these socks. Ever since I have rode with them on I never get blisters. My first impression of them when I first tried them on was that it was like walking on pillows. They're soft and not scratchy so they'll never chafe you foot or leg in your boot.
These are by far the best long mx socks I have ever used period! Quality, fit, comfort is top notch as always with Alpinestar products. If you wear knee braces like I do, you will love the comfort these socks provide!
