Alpinestars S-MX 5 Boots Alpinestars S-MX 5 Boots RC5695 - Upstate, SC Great fit! "Love my alpinestars boots, and the s-mx 5 is no exception. Replacing my old, worn s-mx s, the 5's have a tighter fit, a little more like a glove. Hugs my ankle well , and the zipper goes a little lower so getting in and out is no problem. They look great! Some guy here have a bad review and said they were painted, but it is just mold release agent on the plastic. Just a quick way and they look amazing. Alpinestars are I've of the few boots that have a toe box big enough for my wide foot. If I had a complaint, it would be that the venting doesn't do much. There appears to be quite a few vents, but you don't feel it running 80 down the high way even. All in all, a very satisfied purchase. As long as durability is on par we the s's I had, I'll be very happy."

Alpinestars GP Pro R2 Gloves Alpinestars GP Pro R2 Gloves TomC - Danbury, CT, USA Excellent gloves, but get the size right! "The GP Pro R2 gloves look great, are well-made and look to be very durable. My only complaint is the Motosport sizing chart does not match the Alpinestars sizing chart that shipped with the gloves. The Alpinestars chart is right! You should check that out before ordering to make sure you have the right size. You need to measure the widest part of your hand, not necessarily knuckle to knuckle."

Alpinestars - Legendary Innovation

Alpinestars' roots in motocross and motorcycling span six decades. Founded in 1963 by Sante Mazzarolo in Asolo, Italy, Alpinestars first made hiking and ski boots but a short two years later the company introduced its first motorcycle boot - it included an innovative steel shin protector and a buckle closure system rather than laces.

A decade later, Alpinestars marketed protective boots featuring toe sliders and enhanced levels of protection for the motorcycle road racing circuit giving the company a loyal following. In the 1990s, Alpinestars rolled out additional protective gear including gloves, jackets and full leather suits.

In 2011, Alpinestars unveiled perhaps the most innovative line of protection ever seen by the motorcycle world. Popular Science magazine gave the company a "Best of What's New" award for the Tech Air Race Suit. Available to the public, the Tech Air Race Suit is a state-of-the-art fully functional airbag system. The technology Alpinestars created monitors the rider's movements and determines when a crash is imminent and deploys airbags along the shoulders and collarbone in milliseconds.
