You've just been crowned King of the Classic, how does it feel?

The feeling is indescribable to be crowned the King of the Classic! I was so stoked to come off the track and see Brent, Wes, Ryan and everyone cheering with the cameras and the Kings staff.

Obviously being a Hired Gun, you had extra pressure, how did you cope with that? (try to include details about how the Hired Gun process works)

Being a Hired Gun for sure added some pressure. With the target on my back I did not want to get second! I was really excited when I got the opportunity to come and race for free and defend my bib. The Hired Guns are riders that Vurb selected to be at the top of their classes and if any non-hired riders won the class they automatically get to be a Gun for next year!

Coming from CA, have you ever ridden in conditions like that before?

Coming from California I really haven't had the opportunity to ride in conditions like we had. I live in Norcal so I get some rain but never snow! I don't have too much experience mud riding but I actually really like it! I was glad when I saw how gnarly the track was. I knew that the worst it was, the better I was going to do, and that was what helped me do so well. Cause for me, moto is all about mental determination.

Despite the weather problems and conditions, did you enjoy the overall experience and is it a race on the calendar that you will now look and plan ahead for?

Overall I really loved the Vurb Classic and I'll definitely be attending next year. I look forward to going back and defending my position as King!

You race the Monster Cup this weekend, how are you preparing for that?

I'm really looking forward to the Monster Cup this weekend. I went straight from the Classic in Colorado to Southern California to ride supercross for the first time! I'm only 15 years old and I've been riding big bikes for a year now and they throw me out on a full on supercross track! I rode SX today for the first time and really enjoyed it.

What class are you riding, and who are your main competitors?

This is the first year they're having two amateur classes at the Monster Cup and the first time in Sam Boyd stadium. I'm going to be riding the Amateur All-Stars class which is 250 A/B riders. There are a lot of fast amateur pros and intermediates and I'm going into this race with no expectations and nothing to lose and everything to gain. There are so many fast riders attending, but you'll have to watch it live on Speed to see how it all plays out. I'm not sure if they will be broadcasting the full length race of both motos but I know they will at least show highlights.

They've really gone all out on the track design for this event, is it something you're looking forward to riding?

I really am looking forward to racing on the SX/MX hybrid track! Everything is new for me and I just look forward to getting on the line with the fastest amateurs in the world and proving to everyone that I can hang with the best!

And finally, what are your plans for the rest of 2011, and 2012?

My plans for the rest of 2011 are to do my best at the Monster Cup and get a feeling for Supercross and what it will be like when I hit A1 in a few years. Then I will be back to training and hopefully I'll be attending the Mini O's in Florida. It's a long drive but my family is committed to the sport and if everything works out we should be there. I'll also be racing at our local track for rest of the AMP series. AMP always produces the best tracks in Norcal and I love racing with them. For 2012 I plan to hit all the big amateur nationals and possibly race the Junior World Championships for my 3rd year in a row, this time in Bulgaria. I've been a part of Team USA, last two years. We've won the team overall both times and I'm hoping to get the opportunity to go again.

Last but not least, who would you like to thank for helping you out?

I'd just like to thank everyone supporting me for all their help. All my friends, mechanics, family and fans! My Mom and Dad for sacrificing everything for my brother and me. Also, I have the absolute best sponsors in the world. Without you guys I wouldn't be where I am now! Thanks to all my sponsors: Rockstar Suzuki, Fox, Smith, FMF, Dunlop, Factory Connection, Works Connection, TCR, One Industries graphics, Renthal, GoPro, Sheehan construction, Corwin motorsports and my company, Super Sketch Apparel.
