Clyde Wiseman began making pistons in his garage in 1940 on the east side of Cleveland. Initially, Wiseman's pistons were for himself and a couple of friends but as the good word spread, he founded Wiseco Pistons a year later. At the time, Wiseco was the only U.S.-based manufacture of forged pistons and ever since the company has worked tirelessly to create high quality performance products for dirt bikes. Wiseco Pistons is now headquartered in Mentor, OH and the garage has grown to a 150,000 square-foot facility with state-of-the-art forging and CNC machining equipment. Today, Wiseco manufactures clutch baskets, crankshafts and camshafts among other components but the company's name is synonymous with pistons. In fact, the Wiseco piston is the only U.S. manufactured forged pistons for the motorsports market.
