2022 Oakland Supercross Recap

Doubtful many people saw this one coming.

Jason Anderson won a 450 class Main Event for the first time in nearly four years making it look easy in his first year on Kawasaki, leading all 18 laps with little trouble from the field.

The 2018 Supercross Champion looked to start fresh this year on a new bike but finished 10th at the opener in Anaheim after Justin Barcia cleaned him out in a corner fighting for podium position. Anderson's win puts him in second place for the season with raised expectations for the season.

Speaking of Barcia, he placed third for the second straight week which gives him the Red Plate for Round 3 because opening round winner Ken Roczen finished 13th after a crash which drops him to fifth. Defending Champio[gallery]n Cooper Webb whi finished second last week posted a mediocre night in seventh but Eli Tomac, the 2020 Champion took fourth, looking better in his first year on Yamaha. Aaron Plessinger finished second after a ninth-place to start the season.

All this results in an early shakeup of the points standings.
