Pilot® Power 2CT tires add two-compound technology to the already renowned Pilot® Power range. While 2CT technology originated in MotoGP racing, Pilot® Power 2CT tires are intended for the most demanding sportbike riders, who use their bikes both on the road and for track days. Its tread surface is divided into three separate areas, incorporating two different rubber compounds. This helps provide numerous benefits in terms of dry grip, lean angle, handling and progressive acceleration and braking on wet surfaces.

  • Track-day tire that's equally at home on the road.
  • Real MotoGP technology from the tire company that introduced dual-compound tires in GP racing.
  • 20% softer rubber mix on the edges of the tread yields phenomenal cornering grip.
  • Lean angles up to 51.2° measured on Michelin test track.
  • Precise handling and feedback.
  • An extension of the Pilot® Power line, not a replacement.
  • The Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires are rated W and up to 168 mph.

New Tires bring new life
I had been shopping for tires for weeks and was going to go with another set of Battlax's but when talking with the Motosport rep on the phone he convinced me to go with these instead. Better price and handling was what was promised. That was what was delivered when these tires went on. I felt as if I had a brand new bike that rode on rails. Great in the turns confidence inspiring and hard hold in the straights. I would recommend these to anyone who can fit these on their bike any style of bike at that. Price and ship time were great Im a believer!!!

Bad rain tire
The Pilot Power 2CT tires are pretty good for dry conditions. It's definately not intended for wet riding conditions along with a bike over 1000 ccs. I've ran them for a year, but will not ride the bike on rainy days. The tires have no traction unlike the sticky Pirelli Corsa brands which stick to the road like glue even in the wet. I'll never buy Pilot Power 2CT tires again. It was a waste of money, and I had to wait for dry days to ride.

Excellent Tires
These tires are really good, this is my 2nd set i have bought and will always buy these, amazing traction on corners, can lean all the way to the side walls and you still feel comfortable, no slipping what so ever. Has different tread in center which makes for good long lasting tires if you do freeway/highway riding alot, i have to ride 30 miles a day on freeway to work and hit up the canyon 1-3 times a month and they keep themselves evened out and have no flat spots. Very good buy, i would recommend these to anyone, shipping of course always comes easy and fast with motosport, there customer support is excellent.

PIlot 2CT Tires
On my R1200 RT. Bought because of the good reviews for tread life and handling. Took them on an 1150 mile trip to Vancouver Island from Portland OR and they seem to be holding up very well. On parallel raingrooves they tend to wander a bit and you can tell when they transition between the two compounds when entering a turn, but they seem to handle and grip very well. Good Value, good product.

5k Miles & time to change (rear)
Overall these tires were good but I really expected more. I have these on my VFR800 and I use it for commuting 7 days a week. in all kinds of weather. After putting 5,000 miles on them the rear tire shows wear and last week the rear tire slipped 2x without going down while riding in a light drizzle. That's something those tires have never done before so obviously I just ordered a new rear tire and keeping the front for a bit longer as there is plenty of life left there. I love the idea of the multiple composite tires for more mileage but I found myself rattling back and forth on those turns all too often when cornering on the edge of the two composites. I might just be too picking and need to stick with a single composite and eat the costs of more frequent replacement. I'd recommend this for buying early in the riding season and summer riding. Overall they were good but at the price and technology put into them I was looking for more.

Good tires
I had a pair of the older verision of the pilot powers on my bike bfore these and they lasted a long time... hoping these will do the same. one thing to note...as with most new tires, these have a waxy coating that needs to be worn off if you expect them to be sticky before you try hard turning with them...

How old are these tires?

The 2CT's are very new. This tire was completely sold out in the USA last year. So any 2CT will have arrived within the last 6-9 months or so.

What is the difference between the 2ct and the original pilot power? Are they both fit for street ridin?
MotoSport Staff Expert
Over 3 years ago Location: Portland, OR
Both are street legal, the 2CT is more of a track/high performance tire where the pilot power is more of an everyday tire.

These are different from the original Pilot Powers because they have a dual compound tread. The outer part of the tread is softer to allow better traction in cornering. Great tires!

This will fit, but the profile of this tire will be different than the tire you reference.
