How do I enter my tire size?

Look along the rim of your tire. You should be able to find a group of numbers separated by slashes and/or dashes. There are two general types of tire sizing, metric and english. Most street and dirt bikes use metric sizes. A metric size will look like 100/90-19. Most ATVs use english sizes, english size will look like 35x10-15.

    Motorcycle Front Tire

    Sometimes you just need one.

Ideally, motorcycle tires wear down together but with the rear tire handling the bulk of the weight and powering the bike, it wears down faster than the front tire especially for commuters and those who get stuck in stop-and-go traffic every day. The front tire on your motorcycle therefore lasts longer and often needs replacing separately from the rear. Other reasons include a blow out or perhaps you don't like the feel or how the front tire handles on your motorcycle. Whatever the case, don't throw out the rear tire with full tread.

Can You Put a Front Motorcycle Tire on the Rear?

As a general rule, no. Front and rear motorcycle tires have different load ratings, tread patterns and riding characteristics so if you have a spare rear tire laying around don't think you can install it on the front and be good to ride. When the tread life wears down on the front tire replace it with a front tire.

Every now and then the tread aligns and you grab a tire combo but more often than not the rear motorcycle tire needs changing when plenty of life remains on the front tire.
