Pipe Gaurd

This pipe gaurd is a pretty good product, but the clamps that come with it are fairly weak. You will need to go to your local auto parts store and get some heavier duty clamps that are at least 1 inch longer than the supplieid clamps. Overall I like it, it gives the bike a cool spine or backbone effect. it takes about 45 minutes to install, you need a rubber mallet, patience and an imagination to get it to fit and look right. it wont stand up against stumps or big rocks without damaging the pipe, but there is not another gaurd on the market that will either. I have one for both of my bikes (02 yz 250, 04 kx 250) Good product!

Does the job

Terrible product. Does not look or fit good. Be ready to buy new clamps. Clamps did not even fit on my stock pipe.

A must for trail riders

just bend it around you pipe and clamp it on. it is a hard metal. 5min instilation.

Forms great to the pipe. I have a Fatty Pipe for a YZ 250. For a Fatty you will have to join to 2.75" hose clamps together or get 5" clamps to fit around the pipe. Other than that make sure you have a rubber hammer to help form the guard to the pipe.

No need for racing, but good for freeriding

its a all in all its a somewhat good but decent item, would recomend if your a hillclimbin person, its really a none needable item if your a racer, but if you freeride, hillclimb, or freestyle its helpfull against dents an penitration.

Good purchase

looks nice. forms to the pipe easily. took me about 15 to 20 minutes. clamp was too small for front of pipe. Ratlles a little when riding but is a good buy

This product works awsome! If you own the FMF fatty pipe pick up some super big hose clamps, the ones it comes with will not fit around the huge fatty!

Safe purchase

If you are afriad to dent your pipe this is a good way to take away your fear. Easy to install and take off. Gives your bike a stronger look.

Almost right

The idea is great. The execution is okay. The width is the same from one end to the other. As you know, 2-stroke pipes start small and get wider as you go. A design that better takes this into account would be better. As it is the pipe guard does the job reasonably well. It is much better than none at all. Not perfect, but a good solution.

Pipe protector

It's ok since nothing else is produced for the Fatty (FMF). But does not fit real good on the Fat.

Questionable Protection

I installed this product on an FMF Fatty. Installation was pretty straight forward but did take a little while, maybe 30 mins. However, the guard is very light weight, it did not hold up to a hard hit with a tree stump. The pipe was ruined and I did not install the guard on my new pipe.

I wouldnt recomend this, it still gets hot, and looks bad.

If you don't wanna spend 20-30 mins then forget it

I was putting it on a 93 cr250 with FMF. If you know how a 250 pipe curls at the head, thats what makes it hard to get on. on a 125 it would fit alot better. Even on a 125 its hard to get the clamps around the pipe. If you get mad easy then don't think about buying this but if you have patience then its worth the money. This product might help not denting the pipe but even if you have a carbon fiber guard it can still dent it...or it will actually bend the whole pipe right after the neck of the exhaust.

Crazy not to own one

Fit and installation takes some work, but the protection is worth the little bit of frustration. Crazy not to install one if you have an aftermarket pipe.

A: I owned this pipe guard prior to purchasing the Moose pipe guard. The WPS universal is made of aluminum, and does NOT protect against hard drops or hits. It will most definitely prevent any major gashes in a pipe, it's light, easy to mold/bend and is a lot better than having nothing. But for serious protection, I'd recommend a Moose Guard (That is hardened steel) or a Carbon Guard if money isn't an object.

A: No they come in a package that is some what flat, you will need to bend and form it to your application, it is simple to install and that is why it is also a universal fit.
