Hydraulic vs. cable clutch CR250 CRF450

Bought a Magura 2nd gen hyraulic clutch and this WC with an OEM cable is much better. The hydra clutch is good for old timer ktm rider who doesnt know about adjustability and throw, but for me I like the clutch to fully disengage with very little pull of the lever. You can do this with a juice clutch, but you have to make custom spacers. WC is way better than hydra. Love mine on my CR250. Easier, smoother pull than stock. Same with my CRF450.

Take your time putting it together.

Classy clutch lever

The billet aluminum lever is amazingly crafted and is well engineered. I just replaced my CRF450R clutch with a Rekluse Core EXP 3 and Rekluse clutch basket and though that this would top it off well.

A must for every MX Bike

Easy installation, looks great and makes the clutch pull smoother with less effort.

Nice setup, but didn't seem to help with leverage

I bought this for a 2013 KX450F to hopefully improve the leverage on the clutch cable to make it a bit easier to pull, but I don't think it made much difference.

I WAS able to slide the perch in closer to the center of the bars and adjust the lever to be closer to the grip, which improved leverage by letting me use the outer part of the lever, rather than the inner.

It didn't provide that magic leverage on the clutch I was hoping for, but overall I'm happy with it!

Awesome Clutch!

Running this on a Walsh Hybrid CRF-450, way better then ASV levers I've used in the passed. Uses a sealed bearing on the lever to minimize slop.

Q: Would these work on a KTM?

Since they are only levers, I can't imagine why they wouldn't work on a 2011 KTM 250SXF.

A: The 2011 KTM 250SXF has a hydraulically operated clutch system. The Works Connection Elite 123 EZ Build Clutch Kit is designed for cable operated clutch systems. I would recommend taking a look at the Sunline V1 MDX Clutch Lever which you can find here: http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/Sunline-V1-MDX-Clutch-Lever

Q: I'm a beginner on riding dirtbikes. I have heard from my friend that you do not have to use the clutch when riding. What is the clutch?

A: The clutch is the lever on the left side of the handlebars, on a bike with a manual clutch it is recommended you pull the clutch in during shifts, it takes the load of the bike off the engine. Most dirt bikes come with manual clutches, but also some youth models comes with a automatic clutch meaning you can shift the bike without the use of a clutch.

A: Slicktrick answered this question great. Keep in mind though, the clutch will function the same as in a car and will be required when starting and stopping also.
