Look good, questionable design

I bought these pants to replace my 10 year old Fox pants, mostly so my riding buddies would quit making fun of the dated red/yellow (they are still in great shape).

First off, when I ride I wear EVS shin/knee guards (I've used them enough times to not ride without). The first thing I noticed when I put these pants on was how tight they are through the knee and calf area when wearing this type of guard. The first few times out on the track, it took considerable effort to bend by knee all of the way back. If you don't wear knee guards or braces, it may not be an issue.

The pants have a pseudo knee guard built in, so I thought that I could ride without the extra knee guards. I tried kneeling on my kitchen floor and immediately regretted the decision. The design of the plastic actually creates hard pressure points right into your knee. Overall, the integrated "knee guards" are more damage than good, both with fit/comfort and safety.

The only other issue that I have found was that the mesh liner to the pants is not sewn in at the bottom (only around the waist band) so when you take these off after a sweaty day or riding, the liner sticks to you and pulls up and out of the pants. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to finish sewing the liner in.

On the positive side, they look great and the materials look/feel very nice. I can't really comment on the durability and I haven't crashed in them yet (knock on wood), but the leather knee covering is VERY soft and wraps around the front of the knee, so it seems this may wear quickly (even kneeling in the pits).

I'm getting used to the issues, and overall like the pants quite a bit, but was disappointed with the design flaws I previously described, hence the 3 star rating.
