You should know this about a tire

I purchased (and positively reviewed) the Shinko 005 Advance tire combo from motosport.com just a few weeks ago. What you need to know about the rear tire and why I'm purchasing a 2nd rear so shorty after the first purchase is this: Two days after mounting and balancing my new tires I was following a contractor's pick-up truck on my way to work and they dropped some sheet metal screws on the road. I dodged most of the screws, but picked up 3 in my rear tire. The need to know part - even though the screws were 1.5 inches long and completely pierced the tire tread they got me home that night and 3 days later still had the same air pressure as the day I mounted them. It's great to know you can still get good value at a reasonable price.

Good tire, nothing spectacular

this is a solid tire for the money. awesome grip, good feel and seems to be solid enough to last a while without sacrificing grip. over all for the money you cant beat it. im sure there are tires out there that are better than this but i am able to push my bike wayyy too fast with this tire anyways so why spend the extra money? good buy so get on it!!

Good tire for price

Good tire for the price, was in a bind needing the tire in a hurry. Fast shipping and tire performed great. Only downside was tire was very slick upon purchase( this is the third rear I have bought). Tire was by far the slickest and took the longest to get rid of hard rubber layer. Break in took a good two hours ridding and was well worth the outcome .

Tire is awesome

I am more than satisfied with the tire. shipping is second to none the tire showed up actually a day early which was fine with me. The tire is well made, reasonable price, and the performance is good, sticks to the road, so far I have about 1000 miles on the tire and it is wearing very well.

Great Tire.

Although I didn't order the tire from Motosport, (which i should have). I am super pleased with it. I've only put about 100 miles on it so far, but in those 100 miles i'm super impressed, after the few miles to break it in and wear the factory stuff off, i pushed the tire a little, and was surprised at how good it holds lines and very responsive it was. I rated durability average, because i don't know right now how long it will last. But i will say, in 100 miles, I still have the nobs still on the tire. so i'm guessing i can easily get 5k miles out of it. All and all, i would def recommend this tire to anyone that wants a tire that will be sticky when you need it and last a good while. Purchase this tire with confidence, don't hesitate.

Bang for your buck

I put these on right after I bought my bike and have put a couple thousand miles on them, (bought front and rear), going on my first canyon run with them tomorrow and I will post my final review on the front tire, but as of right now.. great buy tread holds well.. only lost traction once and it was b/c I hit a small patch of gravel.

Sacry tire

After getting a flat on the factory installed Bridgestone battlax that came on the bike I purchased this Shinko because it was in stock. Should have waited the three to five days shipping time from Motosport. This Shinko rear tire is absoluted freightening in its lack of traction even when warmed up. Where the Bridgestone was confidence inspiring in the corners , this tire puts the F in fear. I live in the Northeast so the bike is going away till the spring but I'll be ordering a new set of Bridestones over the winter. The 40 dollars I saved on this tire plus the fact that it was in stock is not worth the constant wheel spin I get from this P.O.S. Yes I scrubbed it in from sidewall to sidewall before I pushed its limits and it still never felt grabby like the Battlax. I guess I can use it for burnouts at next years Summer Nationals. P.S. my ride is a 2007 GSXR1000

Does 160/60 17 fit 2011 daytona triumph 675?
my rear tire on my daytona went flat. not really investigating if it can be patched as it went flat while riding in about four seconds. I've been suggested that interior tire patches might apply in my case. I have a tire, 160/60 17, that I would like to put on my daytona in order to save money in this unforseen scenerio. Will my daytona, stock 180/55 17, manage in daily commute riding scenerio, in an acceptable manner?

I would not recommend changing the tire size on your bike from a 180/55-17 to a 160/60-17. This may drastically change the handling of your motorcycle. I would recommend replacing that flat tire with another 180/55-17 as that would be the proper size for your bike.
