RIDE ENGINEERING's newest product is all about improving the braking performance of modern day dirt bikes. It's billet caliper achieves this with larger pistons, a solid, flex-free body and cooling fins that allow air to pass through it completely. Although braking power is a little less than an over-sized rotor kit (Ride Engineering estimates about 15% vs. 20% with a 270 mm rotor kit), its the feel and modulation on how it applies the pressure to the brake pads that's really impressive here. Initially the lever feels softer, but with less effort the connection between your finger tips and the front tire is greatly improved. This relationship is so good, that it can be paired up with an over-sized rotor kit to give supercross style stopping power! Used by Star / Valli Yamaha. The caliper is lighter than stock and its performance gains can be fully utilized by riders from novice to pro.
