poor instructions
" This is supposed to fit my bike 2003 honda RC51. they have wire colors for eariler RC's, but not an 03'. The company is from the UK, so calling them is difficult. they didn't respond to my emails asking for wire colors for my bike. I tried my best to guess the correct wire colors (Honda's are similar) no luck. But that's my bike. If you have a more common bike your'e better off. BUT remember you are hard wireing this into your bike. IF you don't know how to soder, be careful. "

must buy
" I can't say anything bad about this product. It was easy to install. I just pulled the windscreen off and the wiring harness with all the wires i needed to hook up to was right there. It comes with great instructions which include wire charts for most bikes so you don't need a wiring diagram to install it. It took less than an hour to install and calibrate. I mounted it right next to my gauges and it looks stock. It works better than i expected. It never takes more than a half second to show the right gear no matter how fast you shift. "

What gear are U in?
" This is a good product because when upshifting sometimes it is difficult to know if your in 5th or 6th gear. The instructions were easy to follow and wires were the exact colors as specified. This is a 2008 ZZR 600 which is basically an older Ninja ZX-6. You do have to solder the wires which was easy. I down graded to 4 star because of the delay when down shifting. Sometimes it will not show the correct gear-but will reset when neutral is selected. Overall this is a great product and is visable on a sunny day. "

Great Product!!!
" Well worth the $$$ and the time it took to install. It took me 5 hours to install and program. Programming took 5 attempts to get it right. Take your time and just follow the instructions. No more guessing "Am I in 5th or 6th gear when cruising on the highway" or "Am I in 1st or 2nd when down shifting". I am very glad I installed it. "Try it, you'll like it." "

Very NICE!
" When I started riding, I had a BMW K75s that had a built in digital gear indicator, naturally i came to rely on it quite a bit. Its the one thing I have missed on my Hayabusa and on the Hayabusa i think it really is a necessary item. So I ordered the Data Tool Indicator and installed it on my 00 Busa and I am very glad I did. I'm no longer wearing down my cluth trying to find the non-existent 7th gear and I am having a much more enjoyable ride now that I don't have to focus so much on remembering what gear i am in all the time. Installation was pretty simple but it did involve some wiring. I installed mine using a spare wire plug i had laying around so I can disconnect and remove it easily. Also be aware that you will need to have your bike running on a stand while you program it. All in all a great product with easy to understand instructions. "

Great tool for Race Bikes
" I have two CBR Race bikes and they both have the digital gear indicator, I would not race the bikes without it. This product in particular is simple to instal and configure. Imagine going full speed and before the turn you need to downshift, do you think you have time to guess in what gear you are before you lean into the turn? "

Great product!
" This product is great for people who forget, can't hear, or just can't tell what gear they are in. It works great for me as I listen to music on my commute to work and can't "hear" my gears sometimes. Installation is straight forward and should be no problem if you have half a brain. I wish I had bought this sooner! "
Is this applicable for the 2008 Kawaski Ninja 250r?
Asked by Hodge
Nope. These gear indicators can only be used with instrument clusters that run off of digital speedometers. Your bike's speedometer is cable actuated so unfortunately this wont work for your new Ninja 250....
Answered by Darren77
dont have a digital dash

You would have to check to make sure you don't ahve a cable operated speedometer... this will not work with cable operated speedometers.

does this fit on a 2008 R1
Asked by Khen66, Fresno,Ca
Basically this will work on any bike that doesn't have a cable operated speedometer. So it should work with your R1 and installation could get a little tricky if your not good with wiring so if you haven't installed anything like this before I would say have a shop do it. Instructions are included if you want to give it a shot yourself.

Does this work with a yamaha FZ6?
Asked by mxgolf
This works on any bike that has a digitally operated speedometer. I think that the FZ6 isn't digitally operated so I'm not too sure if it will work. Thats something you can call a local Yamaha shop to find out if that bike has a digitally operated speedo or a cable operated.

is it possible to use with a dirtbike that is equiped with a trail tech vapor computer?
Asked by elmo23
I'm sure there is a way to make it work but more commonly a gear indicator isn't really needed on a dirt bike.

This gear indicator will work on any speedometer that is NOT cable operated. There is some splicing of wires needed to install it
