Great price and performance

I have owned multiple motorcycles over the years and as a result have gone through many sets of tires. I use my bike for commuting as well as more aggressive riding. After encountering some hairy situations mid corner while applying throttle I ONLY purchase dual compound tires. I have used many different tires including the Michellin pilot power 2ct's that wear out entirely too quickly.

These tires offer great durability without giving up the sticky rubber that I need. I purchased and installed these tires knowing I wouldn't be sacrificing any performance characteristics I look for. I will purchase these tires in the future.

Nice Tires

These tires are very sticky and hold to the rode a million times better than the stock qualifiers on the 2012 R6. Makes your bike feel more stable.

Aggressive riding.

I live near Angeles Crest hwy and ride a Buell so you know where I spend my sundays. I do very little commuting but some sundays will see over 200 miles of aggressive riding so I burn thru tires all summer long. I only get about 1000 miles out of a set of tires (especially since hwy 2 was repaved a few years back) so I need tires monthly and this can be costly so I have tried all the different brands searching for the magic tire which will give me the traction I need and last as long as possible. My riding buddys and I ride the pace system which keeps top speed in the 100 mph zone ( straights) and corners are whatever conditions allow, 100mph? So its all about corner speed and smoothness and the q2's work great. I use so many tires I have to save where possible so I mount my own and base my purchases on price so its q2's or q3's which are consistantly priced the best out of any comparable performing brand. I also use dyna beads or a similar product for balancing virtually eliminating cupping or other wear issues and simplifiing installation. You can even reuse the balancing beads if you don't dump them removing the old tire. So in all the Dunlop q2's and q3's are my first choice for traction and even wear since I ve tried everything including sport touring tires with no gain in longevity since basically every performance tire is multi zone rubber and have soft grippy sides which is what I wear out. Sometimes the center tread which is a harder compound looks almost new when the sides are totally fried but this isn't a problem with dunlops or q2's but every tire I ve tried and I ve tried them all. The trouble I have is the stack of tires I build up every season with no side tread left but virtually new centers. So in all these are the best tires I ve found and if I could find a commuter to buy my old tires they'd probably get several thousand miles before squaring them off not to mention the street cred the negative chicken strips would provide. Any takers? At $190 approx for my last set from moto sport (sale) why settle for Shinkos.

Can't beat the sale price

I know a lot of people read reviews about tires concerning the grip and life of the tire, so that's what I'll speak about. I have used these tires on my street bike and on my track bike. I can easily get a knee slider down with these tires on my track bike with no worries at all. If you're riding in the novice, beginner, or street class, these tires will work fine in my opinion. If you are in an advanced class, I'd look for a slick. Slicks of course will hold better and you can feel slight give when at the maximum lean angle, but you just need to know your limits and be realistic of what a DOT tire can do. Another plus is you don't need tire warmers for these tires, just do a couple moderate laps and you're ready to go.
As far a longevity, they do wear down quickly. I can run through a rear tire on the STREET in about 2500 to 3000 miles, but to be honest at the sale price it's hard to complain. I would recommend these tires for all applications except long touring.

Very good aggressive

I had these on my cbr 600rr at the time, I consider myself a very aggressive rider (with 20 years experience) and these tires I found to be better than daiblo corsa's back in 2010'ish. When heated up properly the tires had good feedback and the dual compound really helped with the mileage on the center of the tire. I now ride a S1000rr and will most likely be getting the Q3's but I know the only difference between them is a little added internal strength and wet p[erformance. Either way these tires will serve you well, and not badly priced for performance.

Love them!

I only have a few hundred miles on these tires so far, but I am impressed with the performance. They were sticky from the get go and never gave me the slip you sometimes get with new tires. They feel great on my fz6, solid in corners and haven't had any instability or chattering. I gave four stars for durability only because I assume they will last about 6000 to 7000 miles but high mileage isn't a priority for me. If you are looking for a set of tires that handle well, I don't think you could go wrong with the Dunlop Sportmax Q2.

Did not know what I was missing.

I'm a relatively new rider. Experience of only 3 yrs. I ride to work everyday freeway and street 50/50. I've been upgrading my bikes during this time rather than tires. This is the first set of new tires that I have had installed on a bike that I still own. A suzuki gsxr 600. Could not be happier. I still consider myself a novice rider with a lot to learn, aprehensive going into turns at speed, but these tires make positioning my bike in a turn so effortless. I have gained a lot of confidence in my riding after about 10 hrs on these tires.

Older design but excellent tire

I usually don't go by what the manufacturer says about their product since they will never say anything bad but in this case, all that Dunlop writes about the Q2 is true. Even thou this is an older design it is still a great tire, specially at this price.

Just installed

Just had a pair of these Q2's put on my '12 ZX6R and can already feel the difference between the old worn out BT013's. Great feel and crisp handling. Little shaky to start getting on top of new rubber but only took about 10 miles before they hit their mark. Wonderful grip in the corners even on uneven roads giving confidence into greater lean angles. Excellent tire and would definitely buy again. Tires basically make the bike lean on its own. No real effort being put into turn it or directional changes. Just roll on the throttle and get ready for fun.

Durability yet to be seen but hoping for at least 10k out of them.

Decent sport tires

I put a pair of these on my SV1000 last month. So far I have 1600 miles and one track day on them. Those miles are about 3/4 commuting, 1/4 fun.

The tire I normally choose is the Michelin Pilot Power, but I took a chance on these Q2's because I'd heard good things about them and the price was comparable. I previously had Pilot Road 3's on my bike, the first thing I noticed with these tires is how much lighter and nimble it made my bike feel (similar to the Pilot Powers). The profile is much more round than the Pilot Roads, but slightly less sharp than the Pilot Powers.

In the corners they stick well, they feel good on the street and on the track. Ridden through some horrible rain and have had no traction issues. My main concern is durability - I'm used to getting 5-6 thousand miles out of a Pilot Power rear tire and I've heard reports that the Q2's don't last as well. So far I'd say I have about 2/3 of the tire left so I'm hoping to see 4500+ out of it.
