Tire performs great in various conditions. From South Carolina sand to Virginia mud, roots and rocks. Tire lasts great and can be flipped for extended use. Seems a little tougher to install than other brands.

We bought this tire hoping it would last because our old tires were getting the treads torn off from all the roots in the trails we ride in. We ride in all sorts of soils in SC, from sandy, muddy, to hard packed red clay. The tire seems to be holding up great with plenty of traction and great handling. I'll definitely buy this tire again whenever it needs replacing.
First tire i bought and it seems to grip well. It already shows wear on the top edge of the center lugs after one ride. Im only a weekend trail rider so it should last at least a year for me. I ride in wet muddy conditions through standing water and some hardpack. Would recomend to anyone in need of a tire.
2012 KTM 250xc being raced in Northwest Florida, Central Florida, Alabama and Georgia doing Harescramble and Endure events with the occasional MX track thrown in there.
I purchased these after riding a friends bike with a set on it, the amount of corner bite and straight line traction he had compared to the set i was running was unreal and i had to try a set for myself. I currently have 8 hours on these as i type this, they've seen one race and three practice days totaling roughly 150 miles and are starting to show it. The sipes cut into each lug are now gone and they're starting to round off a little on the rear, but seem to offer the same amount of traction they had when they were new. The front is showing minimal wear on the side lugs, but as is typical it will probably outlast two rear tires to one front one. It hasn't rained since I've owned them so i can't report on wet weather handling but in the DRY Fl dirt/sand/clay/roots/brush they're the bees knees. I've been pleasantly surprised that there has been no chunking to report even though my local riding area is very rooted and has small sampling stumps through out our trail system. I will be purchasing another set of these and recommend them to all my buddies.
This tire has been the best for the big bore KTM for the mud and ruts of Northern California woods I have run this tire for years and love the way it hooks up
Taylor park Colorado in October 2016. Rocks and snow on single track and atv trails. Climbed right up flag mountain. I proved to my friends the importance of fresh nobs on mountain climbs. Great tire.
Good straight line and corner traction. Will always go this tire if I'm unsure of the hare scramble course.
Best tires for Michigan trails
This is one of the best all round tires I've used to date (Have been through over a half a dozen so far). From mud to intermediate/hard terrain, this tire shines in any condition. Tremendous grip and wear for an XC tire. Highly recommend for anyone into trail riding / Hare Scrambles / Enduro where the terrain is primarily Soft - Intermediate. It does hook up decent on rocks / boulders, but it will tear them right up in no time. So for straight up Extreme Enduro Conditions, I use either a trials tire in the rear or the Pirelli MT16 Rear and Bridge M59 in the front.
But again for most of the riding I do (Hare Scrambles / Trails / Some MX for practice), the Micheline S12 XC tire (Front & Rear) is a top notch combo.
I have purchased many S12 XC Michelins in the past and Ive never been let down! The rubber is top notch and the look on the bike is like no other. It has amazing turning grip and stopping power is stout. The tires last very long down here in the south where there arent too many rocks. So i recommend it to you. B class off road racer.
I have tried several tires, but these michelin's feel like i can really get into the corners especially on soft terrain tracks!
Great tire for the price!
I ride XC all across the mid South. This tire is the best I have found for most conditions. These tires do run small. Be sure of sizing before you order.
My two favorite sand tires are this (s12XC) and the Maxxis MS. The Maxxis has better straight line hook up, but I think the S12 is better for Harescrambles as the side traction is better on roots.
It works where no other tire does. Wet ,muddy, slick rocks. Great gncc, cross country & enduro tire!
Perfect for trail riding! Best tire I have had in the mountains by far. Will never by another rear tire other than this one.
I love Michelins, but this tire was horribly. I have this tire on my 2011 YZ250 F, Six motos on a primarily sand track, and nearly all the side knobbies are chuncked off. The center knobs look fine. I'm going back to a MS or MH 3.
this is the best tire ive ever put on my bike ,even though i ordered a 110/100 and got a 130 ?? still worked great .
Was running a M12 XC rear and S12 in the front. Decided that rear M12 tire was not the best suited for riding in muddy, slippery and gnarly singletrack conditions. The difference between the M12 and the S12 is AMAZING. The S12 tire performs as advertised. The side bite and the predictability of this tire was outstanding.
