The Excel Takasago aluminum alloy rim is the benchmark in off-road racing rim technology. Every Excel Motocross rim is engineered and designed to perform in extreme hostile environments where other rims routinely fail. Fact, Excel has won more Motocross and off-road championships - worldwide - than all competitors combined! Part of the secret is in Excel's exclusive 7000 series aluminum alloy which has a 50% higher yield strength than the competitor's 6 series aluminum. Also, the exclusive know-how in extrusion design, complex multi-step forming, advanced robotics welding, and in hard anodizing such a tough and complex material is key to Excel's strength and world market dominance.

  • Aluminum alloy which has a 50% higher yield strength than other aluminum rims.
  • Excel MX rims are the choice of all Factory Works and Privateer Teams worldwide.

Rim Specifications:

  • Rim type: Front.
  • Rim size: 14".

Great Rim

When I order rims I always get Excel. This rim is great. Fits with stock hub, spoke, and nipples. Only issue is that the Gold lettering washes off almost on the first cleaning. So far so good!

Got the black Excells for my CRF 450R. Only thing I did not like is the Excell logo on the wheels started flaking off after the first wash.

Love the black wheel look

Rims are nice and make a huge improvement of the look of bike when compared to stock silver wheels. Very happy with purchase. Only down side is paint chipping from roost on black rims and yellow lettering wearing off. Though it's minor and still holds up well

Best rim so far

I bouhgt this rim on Jan, because the original rim crack on the welded area, this rim is light and tough, it held a lot of abuse so far w/out any sign of break up.

I would recommend purchasing an Excel front rim which will work great with your stock hub on your 2008 Kawasaki KLX450R. It wouldn't be a bad idea to replace the spokes as well.

Weight?
I am looking into reducing weight on my 2005 KDX 200 if I change the stock wheels to Excel and keep the stock spokes could I save a little weight?

I dont beleive you can use your stock spokes. Excel rims have larger spoke/nipple holes. I would go with the Excel spoke set up as well.

This Excel Rim will not work with the stock spoke nipples on your KDX200 2005.

Unfortunately, this wheel is not offered for your 2009 Kawasaki KLR650, I would recommend checking for the OEM wheel through the OEM parts finder. http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/oem-parts/KAWASAKI/2009/KLR650/WHEELS~TIRES

Yes, as long as you order the correct rim, the stock up will work fine, front and back!

Are Excel rims compatiable with OEM spokes?
2001 Yamaha Yz250

The aftermarket Excel rims for your 2001 YZ250 will require you to purchase the Excel spokes. If you are trying to lace up the stock Excel rim that came on the bike, you must use the stock, or stock replacement spokes. The Yamaha Spec'd Excel rims that come stock, are different than the aftermarket Excel rims.

No, rims vary depending on amount of spokes and the pitch of the spokes.

Will 2008 KX250F stock spokes work with this rim?
My 2008 KX250F has a stock, excel black rim that came with it. Will a new excel rim fit the stock spokes just like the original excel rim that came with the bike?

Yes they should fine. Keep in mind, if you haven't changed the spokes since you got the bike, make sure they aren't stretched out or tweeked any.
