One name always comes to mind when talking about the best in off-road riders and our old friend and long-time EBC outlet in his shops Malcolm Smith is an avid supporter of the EBC Brakes Carbon X Brakes range and has used them for years in Trail and Enduro riding. Also, multi-time champ Randy Hawkins has been a long-time user of EBC carbon based X pads for years.

Although the Carbon X Brakes will not outlast a sintered copper brake pad, it has the unique benefit of lower heat generation and transfer. When riding off-road in fast and dry conditions such a feature is a major benefit. In EBS's years of listening to the faster riders, we have seen cases where the rear brake rotor can be glowing red in night rides which shows just how hot trail braking can get a rotor. Stopping this getting to the bike's hydraulics is greatly assisted by using a carbon-based pad such as the X pad.

  • EBC "X" Series carbon brake pads have been the choice of top enduro riders around the world for several years.
  • "X" Series brake pads utilize a carbon-graphite formula which reduces heat generation and conduction, helping to keep both the rotor and caliper cool.
  • Ideal for hot dry conditions and have been R 90 approved for street use on dual sport motorcycles.
  • Includes two brake pads, enough for one caliper.

EBC Carbon X Brakes are coded red in paint finish and are equally happy on an ATV or a MX or Enduro bike and are also used in ATV Sport riding. However, EBC cautions riders using these pads for ATV use, especially on rear rotors, as wear life may be shorter than sintered pads originally installed in the original unit build. With the lower price point compared to sintered, millions of riders still choose the carbon pads. For Street Enduro use, such as the "Paris-Dakar" style adventure bikes for road use, EBC Carbon X Brakes are an ideal choice, it has been R 90 approved on many of such models in Europe and is safe for road use because of its ability to work effectively when hot.

I'll only use these from now on

awesome quality. Impressed by the performance and behavior that is greatly noticeable. The predictability of how they respond while under heavy breaking is what I'm most impressed with. Like all carbon pads they need to heat up quite a bit before they act accordingly, and when they do they are perfect. Most noticeably under heavy breaking is how the brakes will bind on the rotor and not lock up unpredictably. They give you a nice heavy drag when you need it and they still bite hard and quick when you want them to, but any good pads do that, the heavy drag is the ticket man, the heavy drag...

Just OK

Pads installed easy and fit well. Seem to lack stopping power of the oem pads. Also, being an auto technician I was unpleasantly surprised to find I needed two sets to complete the front brake job. Im used to getting enough pads to do one axle.

These brake pads are the bomb for enduro. They aren't grabby like sintered metal pads. So your suspension doesn't get upset when you come in hard to turns and hammer the brakes. Much more progressive then stock KTM metal pads.

Nice rear pads

These pads are great for the rear because they do not get hot. Don't use on the front because the stopping power isn't good. For the rear they are great though!

Extreme heat no problem

Awesome pads for extreme heat. Fixing rear brake loss on KTM. Only downside to me is they don't last long enough, but they are worth it not to loss the rear brake in a race.

These are brake pads.

As the title suggests, these are brake pads. They fit, and they do their job.

Can't really comment on durability yet, but they seem to work quite well in slowing me down.

Also, mine were red, not black like the photo.

I would need to know the specific part number you received to tell you if they are correct for your bike or not. As long as you correctly selected your 1991 Kawasaki KX80 as the bike you were shopping for when you ordered the pads they should be correct for your bike. I would say the easiest way for you to tell would be to remove the pads that are on your bike now and compare the brake pad shape to make sure they are the same. Also, alot of EBC pads are coated with red on the backing plate of the pad, the image shown online is for reference only and is likely not displaying the exact brake pads for your bike. If you do need to exchange the pads you received please feel free to give us a call at 888-676-8853.

Yes, the EBC "X" Series Pads would be made to fit your 2000 Honda CR250R. The pad thickness for the pads for your bike is approximately 10.5mm per pad.

If you are working on a ATV or Streetbike that requires two sets you will want to order 2 sets of pads since they are sold per caliper.
