For an adventure dirt tire or DOT dual sport the 606 is a very good choice. Hooks up in the dirt and is okay on the pavement.

Dunlop designed the D606 tire to be street-legal, but with an emphasis on aggressive off-road riding and great longevity.
- A full-depth tread pattern designed for rigorous off-road use yields excellent traction on everything from hard-packed fire roads to soft single-track trails.
- At the same time, the D606's tread compound is engineered for good highway wear and grip.
- 10% on-road, 90% off-road.
- D.O.T. approved.
- Tube Type.
- Note: D606F front tire matches with D739 AT rear for desert riders.
I bought this tire for my xr650r to replace a tire that wasn't DOT. I ride a mix of both Hwy and trail but wanted something aggressive for single track. I am pretty satisfied with this tire. I just road up at the Sinders outside Flagstaff, where you would normally need a paddle tire, and it still managed to push me to the top of the hill.
They work well on my xt 225 from pavement to dirt they ride smooth on the pavement
Awesome street legal dirtbike tire!
Just predictable enough on the pavement to get you to the dirt.
I found out the stock tires that came with my bike were no good, these Dunlop Tires are great in the dirt and on the road, they really grip the black top.
Absolutely terrible on pavement, but amazing on dirt or trails! Difficult to install, we used a tire changer and still had trouble getting the tire to roll around the rim.
Great DOT knobby. 90%+ dirt.
Have ran these tires on my XR650r now for about a year and think they are one of the best DOT tires I've ever ran on my Honda. Can't go wrong.
This DOT tire is very long lasting on asphalt, easily a 5,000 mile tire and hooks up amazingly well off road under the weight of my bike. I highly recommend this tire for the wr250r or drz/xr family. I can also scrape peg on the street with it after it is broken in.
I run these on my wr250R, they are very good off road and thats where it counts on my bike, however on the street they do extremely well! i have 3600 miles on mine and there is still 30-40% tread (not good but doable...) dont recommend running low psi up front, i ate through my front tire in about 1200 miles due to low pressure on the street. I never feel shy in the corners on these tires, on the street I can usually drag a foot peg through a corner semi confidently on these tires.
Needed a replacement rear tire so i went with the 606. Installation was a little tedious compared to other tires i have installed in the past. However with this tire you get what you pay for and this tire delievers. You will notice that corners and your favorite trails around town are all new contestants for berm blasting with this on the rim.
The D606 is a great DOT replacement for my current Dunlop non-street motocross tires. I am upgrading to DOT tires to run on private and state trails where bikes must be street legal and insured. These D606 tires appear to be aggressive enough for 90% trail riding. I have been running Dunlop tires on my bike for yearss with great success.
I was looking for a street legal tire that will allow me to agressively ride off road, if you are looking too, this is the one, look no further.
good dual sport
I have used these tires for Baja trail and pre running trips for years. We raced an entire Baja 500 on one set (07 Score Baja 500, Class 30), for 465 miles. We raced an 06 Husqvarna TC 510, with 15/46 gearing and this tire held up great with 0 flats or dings to the rim!
Well I put in my machine and this tire came up, but it's the wrong size. My Suzuki DR650 has a 17" rear wheel, and this is an 18" rear tire. Wi\ould kinda suck if I ordered it as is from the web site.
Other than that, I have run these tires before. And they are really good. They stick well in everything not pavement, and do good on the street too. As with any dual sport tire there is always a give/take, they either work on the street or they work on the dirt, they are either too hard to stick to road surfaces or are so soft they only get 500 miles. These are solid all around dual sport tires. My last set lasted over 2,000 miles. I am currently running street tires but am going back to this tire ASAP.
Bought the tire to just be "street legal" but ended up using it in 4 rounds of a desert racing series. Held up amazingly well on an XR650R. Replaced it with a real mx tire. No differance in performance on the desert hardpack
Great tire. to get the best off road performance, mix with tubliss system and run at about 5 psi - or less! Allows the stiffness needed to be durable on street to flex well in the dirt. then pump back up to 25 psi or more for the ride home on the highway.
I've been riding street & trail now for 10 years, I tried many tires and all seemed to work great on the trail but could not hold up to the hard road. DUNLOP'S D606 130/90-18
holds up plus some, i rode 2,800 miles 90%on road this year on the same tire and still have ok tire tread. :)
The 606 tires are the best. A fresh rear and your front end will seem as light as a feather. They work real well in rocky hard pack with lots of roots. And don't foget there street legal.
