Great Product
" I bought mine because like most people a leatt is just to expensive. It has saved my neck a few times i have over 100 races down in mine and counting. The neck brace was a huge confidence booster for me. The first race i wore it in i was hitting a 90 foot triple like it was nothing. So i would definately recommend it. "

Good for the price
" If you on a tight budget, then this neck brace is a good value. I got this brace as a gift and it has already saved me in crash. However it is extremely difficult to move your head to look around you, especially if you are also wearing body armor. I have also only had this brace for a few months and wear and tear has shown on the seams of the neck pad. I would upgrade to a LEATT if possible, but this brace will get the job done just fine. "

Good for Price
" Its not very comfortable because the neck roll chokes you if you ride with your shoulders way up like I do but its good for the cheap price. It really protects you though. I endo-ed on my 3rd ride with it and it really supported my neck from going to far. But if you have the money, go with the Leat. "

Life saver
" The 1st week my son got it he lawn darted off a jump straight onto his head with only 2 marks on his sholders where brace sits. Two years latter he did the same thing, this time breaking his arm and cracking his helmet. NO neck or back damage. After three years of abuse its about worn out, and yes were getting the EVS again. Plus It's the only brace that allowes you to tuck and roll. "

" I got this for my kid and he says that it hurts his neck and makes it tired. It is rated for 100-150 lb. but he weighs only 90. He has pretty big shoulders so I would suggest it for a skinnier kid. I just have to go through some more adjusting and see if i can get it to fit right. "

It's well worth it
" I have had this for 2 years now. I originally had a "donut" type, but that got too hot during some rides and felt confining. The EVS fits much better, has plenty of ventilation and seems to do as it says. I really dont know why there is such a large difference in price on some of the other neck braces compared to this one. I also wear a chest protector and the two fit together without any issues. "

EVS Evolution - a great Solution!
" I've been holding off on buying a neck brace. I figured I had ridin 40 years and still walking, but you never know when you're number is up! I needed one for my daughetr and myself so I started with one - a large. We both tried it out today and are pleased with the productt. The wife thought she would never were it, but she seemed to like the extra confidence in wearing it. I too, felt a bit less vulnerable. We tried to go without any staps and it was choaking me. So we strapped it up and viola. No problem. Couldn't even tell it was on. I saw a guy at the track that had his attached to the Chest protector. I tried this once we got home but had the same problem with choaking. As far as size, she's 5 foot and sturdy, I'm five nine and 51 years old about 175 medium build. Large seemed right for both of us albeit a little more comfortable for her and a bit snug for me but I'm pretty sure an XL would be too much, so I just ordered a second Large. If one of of crashes, I'm sure we won't be dissapointed to have the brace on. If not, at least I'm not out 600 for two Alpestars or two Leatts. "

EVS Neck Brace - worth the money
" For the money this is a good neck protector. I ride with a Fox Airframe chest protector (size = Large; I'm about 5' 5" and 160 lbs) and I feel like this setup offers significant protection over not riding with these items. It takes some getting used to a neck brace if you have a stocky neck like I do, but the protection is well worth it in my opinion. I heard a lot rumors of people complaining about breaking collar bones from crashes where they were wearing a neck brace, but I don't personally know anyone who has had this happen. I do know lots of guys who would be in a lot WORSE shape if they were NOT wearing a neck brace! Well worth the money, the only downside is that it's not as adjustable as the more expensive models. But most people should be able to work around this by adjusting the foam donut on the plastic frame using the velcro attach points. "

i got really hurt while wearing this....
" held together by Velcro and glue wears out fast, mine is all zip tied together, i just crashed hard in the whoops wearing this and the strap on left side broke and i shattered my shoulder blade broke collar bone c7 vertebra rib and bused my lungs. who knows if these help or hurt... fact of the matter is they take the load from ur neck and put it on ur shoulders and body...(hints the injury's i took) so what is more important to u, neck or shoulders? for all i know this brace saved my life... BUT! looking back, i would prolly have spent the money and went with a more high end brace, but this one works... just Velcro and stuff holding it together is cheap "

" Although not as attractive as the Leatt or Alpinestars neckbraces, the EVS neckbrace does serve its purpose with comfort and stability. I wouldn't recommend wearing this along with a chest protector but a roost guard works fine. The only real downer to this neckbrace is that some of the straps come off occasionally while you are riding. "

Great option
" I recently bought one of these for my 15 y/o son. After using it for the past 6 moths, it was tested this past weekend...and it worked. My son took a very nasty crash breaking the visor on his helmet and dislocated his shoulder. I'm very happy with the protection this neck brace provided him. Great buy! Now I'm buying one for myself. Seems to be sized a little small though. I would recommend going up one size larger than you think you'll need. "

A MUST HAVE!
" Today I had the hardest wreck and walked away from it, My brace on the other hand did not. It broke in the back where the helmet touches it. This saved me from worse injury. This is not the $500 dollar brace but it will help prevent injury. Not having any type of neck brace is like riding with no helmet. You cant beat this for the price it stays on and fits well. The only bad thing I noticed is the neck piece will start to rub you neck raw after riding five full days in a row. But I just bought another one and will always preach how great neck protection is. EVS RC evo neck brace
" I haven't used it while riding but I tried it on with my pressure suit to make sure it fit. It did and well but when the helmets on its near impossible to look back, but it will save your neck and its comfortable other then not being able to look back very good. If you getting a neck brace to see if you want to start wearing one or you're going to do something crazy this is probably the one, but if you race professionally definitely get the more expensive one! affordable protection
" I have worn a cervical collar for a broken neck before, and this provides similar fore and aft protection, with the ability to turn side to side. I rode a day of trail riding with little notice of the brace. I only notice it when I try and look behind me to see if anyone is there. I can't imagine riding without it now, especially knowing the discomfort of a serious neck injury, and or chance of worse. "

Evs evo neck brace.
" I'm not shure what would have happened to my neck if I wasn't wearing this brace. What I do know is that my right collar bone is in 4 pieces after my wreck. Fit did not allow for much movment, which may be good in a crashing incident, but not good if you are trying to look around while you ride. Glad I was wearing this brace. I recomend trying this brace on with a helmet at your local store, then purchace. All saftey equiptment is better than none. "

Decent
" Ive had this brace for a while and its OK. It rubs the sides of your neck badly and kinda makes you sore. It works well but you cant look sideways and backwards at all. if you turn around you have to turn your whole body just to get a glimpse. the leatt looks a lot better than this. Overall its a ok brace but overpriced for the quality. the neck roll is held on by 3 small pieces of velcro and that comes off easily. would not buy again! "

Looking back
" I had purchased for my kids the Leatte Moto GPX Club which came in multiple sizes and had several adjustments. They seemed complicated and expensive so I thought I would give this a try for myself. I liked the looks of it, as for crash protection that is very difficult to determine. Unfortunately even with all the shims removed my neck is too short for this brace. My helmet is always pushing my goggles down over my nose too far, and I can't see behind me. I didn't even know I looked behind until I wore this! When you race with a mixed gate it's nice to be able to see behind you. I'm only 5'6" so for taller riders this may not be an issue. "

okay i guess
" This brace looked pretty good when i got it so i took it out for the first time and noticed after riding with it it rubbed my neck and started cutting me. A couple weeks later at the track i crashed and when i got back to my truck i took the brace off and the back was broken. I would not recommend this to somebody that wants a neck brace to last a long time. It did save my neck but wont ever again. Im upgrading to a leatt brace. "

Amazing
" Well first of all, don't read the 1 star reviews..... This is an amazing product. I bought it and was worried that when i crashed on it it would break... It didn't even bend. After the crash my shoulders killed me. But if I don't recall... That;s why EVS made it the way they did because it really does diffuse the energy to the shoulders.. my neck was untouched. Being a bigger guy it fit kinda tight but to be honest, if it saves my neck I dont care. This is a 5 star product and u shouldnt be worried about any of the bad reviews becuase this is an amazing product. "

Good investment
" I am an expert at crashing and this product appears to be doing its job. I have went through a couple decent get-offs lately and ended up with a sore neck but it could have been worse. I don't have any expierence with the expensive neck braces but if you are on a budget this brace works as intended. It took about 10 mins to get use to wearing it, now I don't ride without it. "

Good Purchase
" I'm a 5'7", 130 lb. adult male. I wear this with a MSR Impact Chest Protector (Youth Medium size) and it fits perfectly. I didn't make any adjustments to the RC EVO foam inserts, but I did have to let the chest protector out to the biggest neck opening using the stock adjustors. I feel very safe and comfortable with this neck guard, but not overly restricted. My friends' initial impression of this product from viewing on the web was not good, but they are much more impressed after seeing it in person. "

" This is the first neck brace I have purchased, so I really don't have anything to compare it too. I also Have not yet crashed. I do wish I had it on 2 years ago so I am hoping it works as well as I expect it too. It is fairly comfortable, nothing you cannot get used too. Over all I believe it will help when I go down, hoping to save the shoulder and neck from re-injury. "

Not bad!
" At first I was a bit skeptic when I first tried this on, it felt like it wasnt very secure with the chest protector I had on. I thought it would restrict my head movement because it seems a bit high profile. Turns out I was wrong! I went and rode the track and not only did it feel stable but I actually didnt notice I switched from a sixsixone neck role to a neckbrace! yay! I think this is a great buy considering the price! A good side note: I just bought a new chest protector that was built a little more snug then my last one and it makes this brace feel even better then before. So the type of protector helps out! "

Protect Your Neck! Save MONEY!
" Neck braces should NOT cost a small fortune! Buy the EVS RC-Evolution! This is a quality product that protects your neck and looks stylish. What else do you need? If the motocross community buys the more inexpensive products that still serve their purpose, then prices will come DOWN and we will all save MONEY! Form follows function with the RC-Evolution and they fit well, however, if you're a little on the brawny side, purchase the extra large. Great product! Save MONEY! Save your NECK! "

Nice Product
" I wore the EVS Evolution brace this past weekend and here are my thoughts: 1. I didnt test it out with any sort of crashes, so I cant comment on the real purpose of the brace. 2. The brace is very comfortable to wear. I didnt even realize I had the brace on unless you tried to turn your head around and look behind you. It also limits your side to side movement but you only notice this while wearing it in the pits. 3. The brace did not effect me at all while in the race position. If it did, I could have taken 1 of the adjustable pads out of the neck roll. 4. I like the neck roll. To me, it acts a initial absorber of impact rather than being an abrupt stop. 5. I wore the brace over my under-the-jersey EVS chest protector and didnt even put the straps on. I never once felt the brace move. I didnt care for the design of the strap system as I couldnt get them adjusted to fit me just right. If you wear a chest protector over the brace, this definately would not be a problem. 6. Its very easy to clean-up after a race as it separates into 3 parts really quickly. 7. I hope the front velcro closure lasts! Its very simple to put on, but the long term durability of this velcro seems very important. 8. Overall, I would give it an 8.5 out of 10, with the strap system and the velcro closure being my 2 areas of concern. So far, I am pleased. 9. BTW, I am 6'1" 170lbs, and I bought a Large. It fits me great, but if I was just a tad bigger I would have to move to a XL. "

Comparable to Leatt
" Even though this brace isnt as "strong" as the leatt, it is designed with the ability to let natural human reaction occur, which is something the leatt doesnt allow. The natural "tuck and roll" reaction is allowed, which gets the neck more out of harms way. The leatt pretty much just hold your neck straight out. Its comfy too! "

Can't beat it for the Money!!
" I just got our braces the other day for myself and my son. My son is 11 years old and has always worn a donut and told me he had no problems with the brace. I've tried wearing a donut in the past but I always felt like it was chocking me. I rode my first practice session with no noticable problem and by my last session it felt normal riding with it. It does help alot with your neck bending backwards. I know you can't put a price on safety, but for $170 it makes alot more sense then $395+. "

good for price
" I had purchased my sons from another source as well. He had used a friends Leatt as a trial. He seems to like this EVS pretty well. The only con is that it's sized small. He is 100lbs even and wears the Med. It is a little tight. I should have gotten him a large. But it fits very nicely with his chest protector. He uses the RXR ASA and they fit together well when you tuck the lower lip inside the chest protector. I did find that the straps that came with it, useless. "

Well worth the money.
" Received 2 large for myself and wife, 1 small for my son. Fit well, hard and firm neck collar does a great job of restricting sudden head movement and jerk, no more painful neck. Hard plastic molding will probably stop further neck movement beyond firm neck collar, we have not had a hard crash yet. Great fit, not heavy or bulky, and great price, especially when having to buy 3 of them. Everyone should have one as a minimum for neck protection, unless you can afford Leatt or Alpinestars. "

" I bought one for my son. It is not all that stable or adjustable. It is a neck donut velcroed to a platform. My sons head does not go all the back because the helmet hits the center of the donut and there is little foward protection. Will this neck brace fit with the 2010 FOX R3 ROOST DEFLECTOR - MENS chest protector?
Asked by DirtRider128
It's going to be a tight fit in the shoulder area, but you should be alright.
Answered by Drewski, P+RTLAND
Yes it can. I have a mens FOX chest protector and this neck brace is pretty much guarenteed to fit any chest protector.
Answered by BeastOfTheEastRM85, Virginia
does this neck brace come with the inserts for the adjustability and the solid mounts for the chest protector?
Asked by Blueyami
it comes with inserts to attach the front of the brace to your chest protector. it attaches where the shoulders attach to the front plate on your chest protector.
Answered by gary310, louisville
these include a strap to keep the brace snug to the body. I've never heard of solid mount that you describe. EVS claims this will fit most chest protectors.
Answered by james718
how do you connect the back?
Asked by JayLive2Ride, woodbury, Conecticut
The ones I've seen just rest on the shoulders and you have the option of using a strap. I don't recall seeing the back attach to anything. Maybe I'm not fully understanding your question.
Answered by james718
dose it work with the fox faceframe?
Asked by harsh47, elkins wv.
EVS do not have a list of which protectors fit the RC EVO Neck Brace. But I don't see why this wouldn't fit.
Answered by james718
I'm guessing you have had your question answered by now, but I run a Fox Airframe (large) chest protector, and the EVS neck brace works fine with it. I put it under the chest protector should pads and put both the chest protector and neck brace on at the same time.

The sizing comes from EVS and that is what they told us. If you have any concerns regarding the way they size them, please contact EVS.

Work with chest protector?
Asked by MEEEE, Place
It should work with the sentinel, Basically you would put the EVS braces on first, then the shoulder pads on the chest protector sit on top of the shoulder pads on the EVS brace.
Answered by Drewski, Portland, OR
Now that the EVS race collar has been out for a while, what are the main differences compared to the Leatte? Which of the two is better and why?
Asked by Jen49
the evs is a wayy better design you cant go wrong with it..it might not look as cool as the leatte but it protects you more....this is why.....if you look at the leatte it has a dip in the front and in the back that cover the chest and spine...thats not good cause if you have a crash and you happend to flip forward or backward those dips will press into your back or chest causing a broken spine or ribs.so the leatte can do more damage then actually protecting ou...and the leatte doesnt have the shoulder pads so it can also break your collar bone easier...it on take 10 pounds to break your collar bone folks...i bought the evs way better design...the only thing with the evs is that its a little bit heavier (but not noticalbe) and it doesnt look as cool as the leatte or the alpinstars

What chest protector's work with this brace?
Asked by theonlybaldone, MA
According to the the literature on this brace, being that it is technically in production still, said one the benefits to this neck brace is its compatibility with most chest protectors, unlike its counter-parts. They also said they will be coming out with a new chest protector that is make specifically for the new RC EVO neck brace. But that was all in writing so until its out and everyone has one we will have to wait.
Answered by james718
what is the main difference?
Asked by bellasdaddy
This brace is technically still in production so all of the information about this brace is only in writing. They biggest claim, in my opinion, is that the RC Evolution Neck Brace will distribute the impacts differently compared to its counter-parts. Apparently it will be less distributed in the places the Leatt is known to impact (collar bone). The Biggest difference is the look. The RC EVO looks like it sits better on top of the shoulders with less of a chance of moving. Which leads me to believe that it may not utilize a strap system or will not be a real necessity. But until this brace comes out we will have to wait and see.

Asked by prjeschk
We were originally told we could sell them at the price of 152.99, but EVS required us to up the price. Unfortunately prices are subject to change and 169.99 isn't a bad investment for some solid neck protection.
