Product Description

  • The Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support SB (Special Blend) is the epitome of neck braces, reaching technological safety features that could only be achieved through the years of research Alpinestars invested.
  • Alpinestars designed the Bionic Neck Support SB to work in conjunction with the helmet when contacted during an accident to dissipate energy throughout the upper body therefore reducing possible injury.
  • The front of the Bionic Neck Support SB utilizes a quick release buckle to open, working off a hinge at the rear. The rear pivot key system is constructed out of durable and lightweight magnesium and allows for the brace to be dismantled in an emergency.
  • Through Alpinestars research they realized, to provide the utmost safety there needed to be breakaway points. The rear stabilizer is backed with foam that will deliberately bend or fracture during high pressure. This foam continues through the shoulders and chest area with the same features that relieve pin-point pressure.
  • Alpinestars added protection against damaging the collar bone with the Bionic Neck Support SB. Nothing protrudes through the bottom of the shoulder area that could cause injury.
  • Proper fitment can be achieved with the aid of the various thickness foam on the under side of the shoulder area of the Bionic Neck Support SB.
  • Alpinestars constructed the frame from a blend of reinforced Polyurethane to allow the Bionic Neck Support SB to be forgiving with high strength for load distribution.
  • Different riding styles may call for different mounting straps. The Bionic Neck Support SB includes the X-strap or there is the optional upgrade of the A-Strap which wraps around the chest for a more snug fit.
  • Note: the Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support SB, as with any other neck brace, can not completely provide injury avoidance. The Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support SB, like other neck braces, will however, provide some level of protection in most impacts. You are involved in a dangerous sport where no product can provide a guarantee of injury avoidance. Ride within your ability.

I am new to the MX word and my son loves the sport, but we were slow in getting him PPE (personal protective equipment), my wife insisted on a neck brace if my son wanted to continue the sport. Load and behold we bought this one and would'nt you know it, he had his worse spill this year... BUT Thank goodness he had his gear to protect him. Two flips and and slam later, only marks on the neckbrace and being sore resulted from the incident. Thank you motosport for offering this product so inexpensively than other companies.

When I opened the box it didn't look like the brace was well supported as opposed to the leatt neck brace that we also ordered. The packaging from Alpinestars just seemed subpar and the manual looked used. It almost seems like this neck brace was returned and reshipped out. But it came with the necessary parts. Haven't ridden with it yet which is the only reason it got a 3/5 on durability and performance but Alpinestars is usually a reliable brand.

Great neck brace

though i've never had a crash bad enough where this thing may or may not have saved my life, a while ago i got tossed over a berm and i believe it stopped me from pulling something in my neck when i nailed a tree. its unbelievably comfortable and i honestly dont feel it while im riding nor is it overly restrictive. it definitely reduced that whiplash-like effects that i used to get from getting buckwild in a sketchy section and it doesnt move around either even though i use it without the straps. overall im very happy with it and the only thing to watch out for is the sizing, im 5'5 and 135lbs and the xs fits pretty good, if i got the medium my friends leatte that i tried on it likely would have been too big.

Great deal

I loved this brace It fit well ,although a few ppl said it looked big on me. It was comfertable which to me was the best quailty. But i only used it few times and it broke do to a crash. Which was a huge bummer because it was still brand new. Its hard to say, that if the brace was made of a stronger material that it wouldnt have broken. or maybe because it was just the way I crashed.

Size?
Dear Sirs, I would like to know the exact size of the neck support. I am 14 years old, 177 cm, 55kg, skinny young man. What size would be best for me? Best, Dani

This neck support is actually sized based off of chest size. According to the sizing chart the recommended size for most 14-16 year olds (with 78-82 cm chest circumference) would be an XS.

Is there padding?
I have never owned a neck brace in my life and I don't know if you just by the brace or if it needs padding to go on the inside.

There is not anything extra required to wear this neck brace. All the padding for the neck brace is attached to the neck brace. It also includes the X-strap or there is the optional upgrade of the A-Strap (sold separately) which wraps around the chest for a more snug fit. The Bionic Neck Support would also integrate into either the Alpinestars A-10 Chest Protector or the Alpinestars A-8 Protection vest if you were looking for additional chest and back protection.

You will be a size small with standard thickness chest. If you have more of a "barrel" shaped chest then you will be size medium.

It would be best just to follow this link to Alpinestar's sizing chart to determine what size would work best. Please let us know if you have any additional sizing questions or concerns at 888-676-8853. http://cdn.alpinestars.com//sizing/bns-size-chart1_1.jpg

Hello MXgoon223sx, The smaller size xsmall, but it would be important to know the circumference of your neck to not make mistakes, even having 12 years u can be big and there the size indicated will be able to be wrong, take the measure of his neck and a metric tape or take any ribbon look and compare size on a ruler there will know the correct size, I'd better. I hope i have helped. Go Race! Melo

Most likely. It is adjustable to a extent. Plus you can make wardrobe changes to accommodate it being too big or too small. Use the sizing chart and tape measure to know for sure.

On the sizing chart from Alpinestars they are going by the chest measurement. If you are having more questions regarding that feel free to give us a call 888-676-8853

Im 6ft 2 and 170 pounds. The small fit me and since the small is the smallest size a-stars offers, I would get the small. It wouldnt be a bad idea to try one on at your local mx shop.
