Product Description

The ALPINESTARS BIONIC NECK SUPPORT SB package consists of the following:

ONE ALPINESTARS BIONIC NECK SUPPORT SB:

  • The Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support SB (Special Blend) is the epitome of neck braces, reaching technological safety features that could only be achieved through the years of research Alpinestars invested.
  • Alpinestars designed the Bionic Neck Support SB to work in conjunction with the helmet when contacted during an accident to dissipate energy throughout the upper body therefore reducing possible injury.
  • The front of the Bionic Neck Support SB utilizes a quick release buckle to open, working off a hinge at the rear. The rear pivot key system is constructed out of durable and lightweight magnesium and allows for the brace to be dismantled in an emergency.
  • Through Alpinestars research, they realized that to provide the utmost safety there needed to be breakaway points. The rear stabilizer is backed with foam that will deliberately bend or fracture during high pressure. This foam continues through the shoulders and chest area with the same features that relieve pin-point pressure.
  • Alpinestars added protection against damaging the collar bone with the Bionic Neck Support SB. Nothing protrudes through the bottom of the shoulder area that could cause injury.
  • Proper fitment can be achieved with the aid of the various thickness foam on the under side of the shoulder area of the Bionic Neck Support SB.
  • Alpinestars constructed the frame from a blend of reinforced Polyurethane to allow the Bionic Neck Support SB to be forgiving with high strength for load distribution.
  • Different riding styles may call for different mounting straps. The Bionic Neck Support SB includes the X-strap or there is the optional upgrade of the A-Strap which wraps around the chest for a more snug fit.
  • Note: the Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support SB, as with any other neck brace, can not completely provide injury avoidance. The Alpinestars Bionic Neck Support SB, like other neck braces, will however, provide some level of protection in most impacts. You are involved in a dangerous sport where no product can provide a guarantee of injury avoidance. Ride within your ability.

And, option of adding ONE OGIO BRACE CASE within which to store the neck brace:

  • Compression molded EVA foam case.
  • Molded base neck brace stabilization.
  • Internal neck brace securing system.
  • Large main dual zipper opening.
  • Zippered goggles / lens storage compartment.
  • Easy access grab handle.
  • Dimensions: 16"H x 11.75"W x 11"D.
  • Capacity: 1950 cubic inches / 31.95 liters.
  • Weight: 2.0 pounds / 0.9 kg.

Great neck brace
though i've never had a crash bad enough where this thing may or may not have saved my life, a while ago i got tossed over a berm and i believe it stopped me from pulling something in my neck when i nailed a tree. its unbelievably comfortable and i honestly dont feel it while im riding nor is it overly restrictive. it definitely reduced that whiplash-like effects that i used to get from getting buckwild in a sketchy section and it doesnt move around either even though i use it without the straps. overall im very happy with it and the only thing to watch out for is the sizing, im 5'5 and 135lbs and the xs fits pretty good, if i got the medium my friends leatte that i tried on it likely would have been too big.

Great deal
I loved this brace It fit well ,although a few ppl said it looked big on me. It was comfertable which to me was the best quailty. But i only used it few times and it broke do to a crash. Which was a huge bummer because it was still brand new. Its hard to say, that if the brace was made of a stronger material that it wouldnt have broken. or maybe because it was just the way I crashed.

Fits nice w/out chest protecter
This neck brace fits good and works good but if u plan on wearing a roast gard/ chest protecter I would recommend leatt because the alpine star neck brace Isn't comfortable with it

Not True to Size
As per the sizing chart on the Alpinestars web site, I ordered the small. It was too large, so I returned it and bought the Leatt. Quality, build, and function seemed nice, but not true to size.

Better than Leatt!!
Alpinestars always makes fresh products and this brace is no exception. I was skeptical about purchasing the SB brace over the carbon fiber, but you really don't notice it on your shoulders.

Stay safe
The brace is not noticeable while riding and with the matching chest protector I feel like Iron man. It makes me feel more comfortable pushing the limit of my riding while keeping peace at mind that I can return to my job Monday morning. You can get custom graphics that are pretty cool from FX. The sizing was the best help. I am 5'8" & 150 lbs and the x-small fits perfect just like the sizing said.

Love motosport
Received my new alpinstars BNS SB this week and tried it out the next day. The brace fits great and feels awesome while riding. When I got the brace i was missing one of the straps for the x stray system called motosport and they got me a strap in the mail right away. Great customer service.

Good product and easy to use. I suggest sizing down when you order if your unsure what size to get because they run big.

It would be best just to follow this link to Alpinestar's sizing chart to determine what size would work best. Please let us know if you have any additional sizing questions or concerns at 888-676-8853. http://cdn.alpinestars.com//sizing/bns-size-chart1_1.jpg

On the sizing chart from Alpinestars they are going by the chest measurement. If you are having more questions regarding that feel free to give us a call 888-676-8853

Im 6ft 2 and 170 pounds. The small fit me and since the small is the smallest size a-stars offers, I would get the small. It wouldnt be a bad idea to try one on at your local mx shop.

Size?
my chest thickness is around 33 and im kinda slim and the size chart says to get a xsmall but i dont want to get it and grow out of it really fast. should i get the small but i dont want it to be really loose or bouncy. what should i do?
Expert MotoSport Staff
that is kinda tricky. since the size chart said x small i would probably go with that. due to if it to big then it wont work like it is supposed to if you crash. granted you might grow out of it, you still want max protection

Will it fit a six six one defender 2.5?
I just got a 661 defender 2.5 and they say it is compatable with the leatt. Do you think it will work with this one also?

it should. but there is no specific protector for the sb model it should be fairly universal but you might have some issues

Sentinal chest protector, How easy is the modifacations?
I found another brace that says it fits the sentinal chest protector extremely well. but i like this brace better. So im trying to decided on which one to get. How easy is it to modify this one to fit this chest protector? and how do you do it?
Top 250 Contributor
you shouldn't actually need to modify the brace at all or the chest protector. It should fit nicely.
