Got this as part of a set. Steel chain with steel sprockets should make a long lasting combo.

Sometimes simpler is better

I used to run O-Ring chain but switched to lighter weight simpler straight chain. I am getting more power due to less moving mass. After each race/ride, I immerse in oil tub. These chains will stretch so you need to monitor your tension but I am very happy with performance.

Good standard chain

This is a great low cost, standard chain.

Good Chain

This chain is great, really basic just certainly does the trick. Just like any other chain, it stretches a lot so you would have remove a link after a good 2 weeks.

Stretches too much

Usually buy Renthal Gold chain. Ordered DID by mistake and just went with it. In comparison to Renthal this chain stretches like crazy. Just about every ride a noticeable gain in play. Never had a chain this bad at it.

Very good product

This product is, performs as advertised,
Installation is simple, a chain break is required. Side to side stiffness is far superior to regular chains. Durability is very good, stretch is reduced substatially

Size Modifications

I had to grind off two links to get this chain to fit. As far as its performance goes, well it has performed as well as a chain should I guess. I've put probably 500mi on it, with no issue. However, I do find myself adjusting the chain tension more than I ever used to... I just wanted to get the word out there that it certainly did not fit with a 14T front and 51T rear sprocket set. Maybe I missed something...

Have gone through a few of these chains. Pretty reliable and good power delivery. Not high and, but with the price you can't argue.

"B+" IMO

Not too Excited about this chain

This chain only lasted me about 3 months. Usually ride about half trail, half track. The chain seemed like it needed adjusted every other ride or so. I put a new front sprocket in to change the gearing and the master link clip seemed pretty sloppy going back on. The clip ended up coming off sometime this week riding and the masterlink was bent but still holding the chain on, barely, while almost rubbing a hole in my crankcase. But i guess thats the price you pay when you buy a $45 dollar chain.

So-so chain

Had it on roughly 25 hours and three of the rollers came apart and ruined my ride that day! Up until then it was decent, stretched a little but not too bad. But I've never had the rollers come apart like that.

Great Chain

Bought this for my 400ex and it hasn't shown me any problems yet. I give a 3star for installation. Because, i had to take a lot of links off the chain before it was able to fit. Worth the price.

Good Choice!

Used on 2013 KX250F, 2012 RMZ450 and 2013 250SX. I started using these chains because I don't care for the looks of the gold chains and the expense of changing them once a month. I am very happy with them; they don't stretch much more than the higher priced chains and I haven't had any issues. I highly recommend them.

One note, the pins are smaller so you cannot use master links from more expensive chains.

Good chain for the riding we do.

It's probably. As good as the O-ring chains but we have had it on for a couple of rides now and no issues.

Q: Why is it to long?
3 months 14 days ago
My yz125 1998. I order this chain 120links exactly what it asked for and it is way to long and is sagging. Like there is no way it was the right one or something. But specs all matched up and it is definitely not right chain you guy's said would work.

A: Motorcycle chains are sold in bulk length to fit a wide range of motorcycles and different gearing options. Once your bike is profiled the product page shows that your 1998 Yamaha YZ125 came stock with a 112L chain with 13/48 gearing. If gearing is altered from stock the chain would need more or less links to fit. For this reason they come in 120 links and can easily be cut down to fit. You can remove links with a chain breaker or by grinding the head of the link pin off. Set your adjusters in the middle of adjustment and put the chain on the sprocket to mark where it needs to be cut to. Just remember if you cut it too short links can not be added back.

Q: I do a lot of trail riding on my crf250r will this hold up?

A: Many variables such as chain maintenance (cleaning, lubing, chain tension and riding conditions) all play into the life of a chain. For the longest life an X-ring chain along with proper chain maintenance would be recommended. The DID 520 Standard Chain would work and with proper maintenance last a while but would likely not last as long as the X-ring or O-ring chains. Also, feel free to give us a call at 888-676-8853 and we would be happy to help you out with your order.

A: The DID 520 Standard Chain would work great on your 150 2-stroke. The type of riding, riding conditions and chain maintenance (cleaning, oiling, tension) will determine the amount of life you get out of your chain.

A: The chains come in bulk length 120 links and will need to be cut down. You can find our chain breakers below. You can also use a grinder to grind the head of the pin off and the chain will pull apart, just make sure you don't cut it too short.

Q: Can this fit to wr200?

A: Yamaha did not make a WR200 for 1996 in the US. The last year was 1992 for that bike here and it was using a 520 chain with 116 links. Verify that is the correct size for your bike before ordering.

Q: Will a BIkemaster 520 heavy duty chain go on a KX125 2003 Kawasaki?
MotoSportExpert
MotoSport Staff
Over 3 years ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
A: Yes, the Bike Master 520 heavy duty chain will fit your bike. Your 2003 KX125 uses a 520 series chain, so any chain in that size will work on your bike. You will just need to decide between standard or sealed (o-ring and x-ring) chains to meet your needs. Standard chains are more geared towards track use and will require a little more maintenance in the way of cleaning and lubing the chain. The sealed chains are internally lubed so they don't necessarily require the same cleaning and lubing schedule as a standard chain. They will hold up better for the offroad guys. In either instance, keeping the chain cleaned and lubed for each ride, will greatly extend the chain and sprocket life.

Q: What is the weight of this chain, how much less than stock? And also, does it come with a master-link, or is it sold seperate? Thanks.?

A: Unfortunately we don't have the specs on the weight for that chain. I'd say it's probably about the same as the OEM chain maybe a hair lighter and yes it does include a master-link.
