D.I.D is the number one motorcycle chain in the world. D.I.D chains are used by factory races teams from all manufacturers in race series everywhere.

The D.I.D ERV3 X-ring chain is the ultimate high-performance, lightweight, low-friction race chain available and is used extensively by many off-road race teams. The ERV3 X-ring chain utilizes D.I.D's patented X-ring technology which reduces friction by 50% over standard O-ring chains for minimized power loss. The pins on the ERV3 X-ring chain have been put through a patented heat-treatment process to produce a pin that is 1.5 times harder than conventional pins. The result is a chain that is significantly stronger and offers better wear resistance than many other chains on the market. D.I.D ERV3 X-ring chains feature a gold-plated finish that resists rust and adds a little style to your motorcycle or ATV.

  • Exclusively designed for motorcycle racing.
  • High performance, lightweight and low friction chain provides the winning edge in World Class competition.
  • Features gold color plates.
  • Average tensile strength of 8,650 pounds.
  • Wear life index: 3100.
  • For 250 - 750cc Rally, 750cc Superbike and 250 - 750cc Endurance applications.
  • Weight (per 100 links): 3.30 pounds.
  • Includes a rivet-style master link.

Half the Power Loss - Compared with Normal O-ring chains, D.I.D's patented X-Ring® construction reduces friction by twisting between the side plates instead of being squashed. Normal O-rings and other makers' modified O-rings have squashed points that increase friction. The twisting action of the X-Ring® disperses the pressure and minimizes power loss.

1.5 to 2 Times Longer Wear Resistance - Compared with Normal O-ring chains, the X-Ring's four contact points greatly increase its sealing performance. This keeps the dirt out and the lubrication in much better than any other O-ring. X-Rings® have the greatest wear resistance of any other type of O-ring or non-O-ring chain.

Note for installing X-ring chains: As X-ring chains are wider than standard roller chains, when fitting an X-ring chain to a motorcycle that was fitted with a non O-ring chain as original equipment, it is essential to check that there is proper clearance of the engine cases near the countershaft sprocket and any other places of close contact. Failure to do so could result in damage to the chain and motorcycle and could ultimately cause the chain to fail.

THE best chain you can get

I've had this chain in my '01 YZ250F for a year now. I ride all the time. Mostly trails, just getting into scramblecross. I have not had to readjust it yet. The rivit style master-link takes a bit more work to install than a clip style but is much stronger. I'm not great about regularly lubing it but it still works great. I'm glad I spent the extra money for the chain and recommend it to everyone, especially if your riding a strong bike.

I use this chain for all 10 races, one race being 100 miles; others lasting 2-2.5 hrs each.... bringing total hrs to at least 24 hrs of absolute punishment. Plus practice hrs.. Highly recommended ... AWCS racing on the east coast out PA., OH. is the best series period! Get your RIDE on!

Good chain

Ended up using the rivet master link that came with it. It's more of a pain putting it on, but probably worth it. Had to tighten up the chain a little after the first ride but it hasn't stretched at all in the two rides since. I was adjusting my old high quality non-o-ring chain after every ride before this one. Overall I'm happy with it, even for the high price.

Good chain bad master link

The chain looks great in the gold the only thing that i didnt like is the rivit style master link. Like me most people dont have the tool to install them plus to work on tour bike and have to remove the chain you would have to break the chain and get a new master. If you get the chain get a clip style master link it will save you time and money in the lond run

You should not have any issues with this X-Ring chain rubbing on the case of your 2011 Honda CRF450R. Only the 2002-2008 CRF450R models require a spacer to run an X-Ring Chain.

Which clip style master link is compatible with this chain?

MotoSportExpert
For this chain DID is not manufacturing a clip type master link and does not recommend running one. Installing one on this chain will void all warranty. If you must run a clip type master link, the 520VM X-ring master link will fit this chain.

The standard DID X-Ring chain is black, and the ERV3 is the updated version (re-engineered) of DID X-Ring Chain and it's also gold in color.
