For over 40 years, Alpinestars has produced superior motocross footwear with a paramount commitment to protection, performance and style. The Tech 3 boot represents all of this commitment with an added level of accessibility unmatched by any boot. Ideal for beginners but more than suitable for experts, the Tech 3 offers maximum value and performance at this price point.

With its contoured TPU shin plate, reinforced leather rear plate and extended inside and outside guards, the Tech 3 provides some of the best external protection of any boot on the market. The internal shock-absorbing padding protects ankles, while Action leather and front / rear accordion panels allow for a great fitting boot with a low break-in time.

As with all of Alpinestars motocross boots, the Tech 3 is CE certified and features replaceable soles and buckles, to ensure maximum performance for many years.

  • The Alpinestars Tech 3 Boots are what you can expect from Alpinestars, high performance and loaded with functional features. The best feature of the Alpinestars Tech 3 Boots is the entry level price.
  • Protection on the Tech 3 Boots are what you can expect from a company like Alpinestars. They have installed contoured shin plate protectors which have been injection-molded with high-modulus polyurethane to provide substantial impact and abrasion resistance.
  • Alpinestars developed a patented "ankle-brace" system for the Tech 3 Boots for great ankle support. This system on the Tech 3 also provides ankle padding to reduce shock.
  • The sole of the Alpinestars Tech 3 Boots provides a rigid platform with the contoured, tempered steel shank that has been over-injected with a dual density rubber to provide tons of grip and give you sure footing.
  • The Tech 3 Boots have extended inside and outside plate guards to provide protection on the side and toe-box areas.
  • The Alpinestars Tech 3 Boots have an internal plastic reinforcement placed on the inside of the boot. This reinforcement provides rigidity to the boot for support. Thick stamped suede covers this up and provides contact grip and heat resistance. The calf plate also helps out with grip, support and side contact on the Tech 3 Boots.
  • Alpinestars uses reinforced leather up the back of the Tech 3 Boots, and their action leather on the upper section for durability. The instep flex-zone has also been stitched for additional support and durability.
  • The Tech 3 Boots will keep you strapped in with the four high impact resistant buckles that feature memory positioning and quick release buckles. Alpinestars uses Velcro® brand hook-and-loop attached to the elastic stretch PVC gaiter to seal the top of the boot and prevent water entry.
  • Alpinestars adds plenty of comfort features to the extensive list of protection features. The Tech 3 Boots use a poly-fabric lining in addition to a multi-density EVA foam keeping your feet cozy. If you require a special foot bed Alpinestars accommodates your needs with a removable anatomic foot bed.

Not bad

You get what you pay for, these will certainly protect your feet but I do have some issues with coordination and shifting with them on, tje toe box seems a little large and it's not the most flexible. Make sure the buckles are adjusted right or you'll be cutting these things off of your feet.

Great boots - wearing a shoe size 11 - got boots in 11 - perfect fit (great). I got them in black and noticed already first use them leaving scuff marks rubbing of on the aluminium frame on the bike (minor) The gear lever needed to be adjusted to be a bit higher for me to get a better feeling for shifts on the trails. (minor) The buckles have been complained about in other reviews - yes they are a little hard to unclip and the concept could be a bit better - especially since the material is plastic and will wear out over time - but better tight than opening up unintentionally. (minor - until I need to replace a broken buckle) Overall great product - I should have waited to get the deal with the free high socks that on right now. I did not have high socks on the first ride initially but wish I had had them.

Still going strong...

We got these for our son about a year ago. He really likes them and he hikes around in them too. Always running around, or hiking looking for shed horns, or wrestling in the grass with his moto buddies.

Great entry level boot!

These boots are a great value for the money. The buckles are tough and they are light weight. They have saved the bones in my feet and legs many times. My only complaint is that they stay stiff for a long time. Break-in is slow but they are lasting me a long long time. The soles aren't broken down and the latches still snap in and do not come loose. I would recommend...when the boot is new...fill them with water...dump the water out...and go for a long walk. Do this a few times and they will break-in much faster.

Not very durable

I bought these boots a year ago and they are already ruined. The sole wore out after about 6 rides and bucked started ripping off after about 10. Save yourself money in the long run and buy at least trh 5s

Great entry level boot, or spare set of mud boots

These boots really wear well, look good, clean up easily, and break in relatively quick. they do fit a little big, and have a larger than normal toe box because of it. too bad they don't come in half sizes? Great for a spare set of boots, or entry level boot for the kids or wife. We use them for both.

Good boot

For all the hype Alpinestars receives, I'm not as impressed as I would have expected. The buckles are very stiff, even after a year of use. They are durable enough and still comfortable after a year.

Great value

I tried on a few other boots in the price range and they were all much less comfortable and seems to be more cheaply constructed. After three years of light riding they are showing signs of wear, but still very serviceable. The buckles can be difficult to unlatch, but a little silicone every now and then works wonders. Not sure I'd recommend them for hard-core racers, but they seem like a great value for the more casual user. I'd buy them again, but may also upgrade to another Astar boot when the time comes.

You Get What You Pay For

I've had these boots for almost 2 years but only have actively ridden in them for about half the time. I am already having problems with them as they wear super quick. I already have a full blown hole forming in my right inside ankle due to kickstarting. Also, the buckles are starting to not be able to stay on. But if you want that Alpinestars look for a cheap price, then by all means go for it but it really is true what they say: You get what you pay for. Never going cheap on boots again.

If I wanted to where double pairs of socks and the shin and knee guards, do I have to order a size bigger?
I wear size 12 boots. Do I have to get 13s?

No, your normal size will work fine. The calf upper is adjustable to accommodate knee pads and different calf sizes.

In my experience with Alpinestars they do run a bit large. I normally wear a size 12 shoes and prefer size 11 Alpinestar boots. I would say if you are looking to run thick or double socks with these you should be fine to stick with size 12.

I wouldn't. these boots fit a little big and have lots of adjustability especially in the calf area.. I would order your normal size and you should have no issues.

My son needs the next size up from a youth 8, what would that be?
It looks like the largest youth size is 8, would the next size be an adult 9? Currently wearing Alpinestars T6s.

What boots are better, alpinestars tech 3, fox comp 5, the fly Racing maverick, or the Scott 250 boot? I want something flexible & narrow @ top.?

I prefer the Alpinestar brand boots. They are top notch quality and hold up very well. Alpinestars makes a lot of products, but specializes in boots so they have much more R&D in them for fit and safety compared to Scott and Fox which are not specific boot companies. The fit and finish from the stitching, down to the buckle system is all of a higher quality on the Alpinestar boots.

Both are great boots. I'd say the tech 3's for motocross and the gearne for offroad/motocross.
