Great cable

Changed my trx250r back to a thumb throttle and this was the cable I chose. This cable paired with the Terry Cable thumb throttle was a great match. would have given it a five but i had to trim the outer case so it would fit my carb.

Needed obsolete parts and you had it

I was in need of a throttle cable for a older 4 wheeler and the maker had listed them as obsolete, I couldn't even get my dealer to order one. I searched the internet and found it at MotoSport at a very reasonable price and it was delivered quickly. Thanks again Mark

Motion Pro Throtlel Cable

The cable was the correct replacement for my 1978 YAHAMA. Only thing was it took longer then expected to get to me. But for the cost it was worth waiting for.

I need a longer throttle cable for my 2009 crf230 because of new tusk bar risers. Would a cable for a crf450 work for giving me maybe 2 more inches?
Expert MotoSport Staff
19 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
The Honda CRF450R cable would not work at all on your CRF230F, the throttle house and carburetor are completely different on those bikes so the cables are not interchangeable. Motion Pro does offer custom cables and they would easily be able to make you a cable that is longer than the OEM cable for your bike. Here is a link to Motion Pro's custom cable site: http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/custom/

What is the free length measurement on this cable?
I recently installed an aftermarket carburetor & the inlet nipple for throttle cable is at a different angle & a little over 1" longer than OEM. This caused the free length part of my throttle cable to be too short. I need a throttle cable for my 06 arctic cat dvx 400 with a 4" - 4&1/2" free length measurement. Can you help?

I don't know of a specific cable we would have that would work with your set up as the Motion Pro Cables we sell would be made to the same specifications as OEM. Motion Pro does offer custom cables, it should be very easy for them to make one for your bike that is longer than stock. For custom cables you would need to contact Motion Pro Directly here: http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/custom/

I need a longer cable then stock?
I just bought cr high bars (renthal) and now I need a longer throttle cable than the stock one for my cr85rb. Do you have any recommendations?
Expert MotoSport Staff
1 month ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
This Motion Pro Cable is going to be the same length as the OEM cable on your bike. I don't show that we would carry a longer cable for your 2004 Honda CR85RB but Motion Pro does make custom cables, it should be very easy for them to make one for your bike that is longer than stock. For custom cables you would need to contact Motion Pro Directly here: http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/custom/

I have a 125cc loncin dirt bike I wanted to know if this throttle would fit my bike!?
MotoSport Staff Expert
1 month 24 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
I could not tell you if any Motion Pro Throttle Cable would fit your bike as I do not have any reference for Loncin Motorcycles, also Motion Pro does not list that brand in there application chart. I would say your best bet would be to try to contact the Manufacturer of that bike directly for replacement parts.

Can this be used for a clutch cable?
1 month 26 days ago Location: Norco, CA, USA
Most Clutch cables are thicker then the throttle due to the extra stress from the clutch springs. If the cable length is the same it will work but not for long. Lance Gunn
Expert MotoSport Staff
1 month 26 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Likely this would not work for a clutch cable, the cable ends for a throttle are normally a bit different than clutch set up and the cable would not be as thick/strong as most clutch cables. I would recommend taking a look at the Motion Pro Clutch Cable instead. http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/motion-pro-clutch-cable

Does thus cable fit a thumb throttle?
OCrider20 2 months 21 days ago
Does this cable include both the push and pull cables or is it just one of them?
MotoSport Staff Expert
2 months 19 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
This would actually be both the push and pull cables for the throttle on your 2000 Yamaha YZ426F. (*Please Note: The image is for reference only, it may not be showing the actual cable for your bike).

Will this cable fit my 1994 cr125?
For some reason my throttle pins wide open when I turn my handle bars to the left even though I do not twist the throttle. I want to know if its the cable that is causing this problem.
MotoSport Staff
Over 6 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
This cable is available for your 1994 Cr125. More than likely though the issue you are having is the actual routing of cable. You will need to look at a service manual for your bike that will show the proper cable routing to verify if you have it routed correctly. If the cable is not routed correctly, it can become tight when turning the handlebars which will cause the engine to rev.

I have a 2001 400 ex with a lectron carb and my gas tank hits and pinches the cable what cable should I get?
MotoSport Staff
Over 7 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Unfortunately there is not a cable to fix this issue and it seems to be fairly common. After doing some research it seems the easiest fix is rotate the carb to about the 1 o'clock postion when installing, so the cable fits into the stock cable guide.
Hansond515 Over 10 months ago
I have two questions, if it doesn't fit is it returnable? Does it improve throttle at all?
MotoSport Staff
Over 10 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
As long as you profile your bike correctly you will receive the cable specific to your bike. This cable does not improve performance versus a stock cable. It is an OEM replacement cable, meant to help restore smooth throttle action that can be lost as a control cable wears out, or to be used to replace a damaged cable.

it will fit... you only need to buy this if your current throttle cable is sticking a little bit or is a bit unresponsive.
